My brother has just started seeing this girl, who we have never met but she comes round every other day but she is so loud you can hear everthing she is saying from the bottom off the stairs. I dont mind when we are not trying to get to sleep but when we go to bed, you have got her shouting whilst she is talking, his tv and radio on at the same time on full blast and her shouting over it as well. When you tell them that where going to bed you will expect her to whisper or talk quietly but all they do is turn down the volume and then carry on shout talking. Then when they think where all asleep which we are not, this is 3:00pm in the morning i add, the turn they Volume on again and she even sings her head off to at this time. Last night the music was abba and snow patrol also hey jude. I dont know what to do, as i dont want to confront him as last time he was making loads of noise with a girl, we didnt see her again and he seems happy with this girl.

I know it may not seem fair on him, as my brothers girl friend and my fiancee stay with us, but we dont make his much noise,
What i wouldnt give for her just to talk like a normal human being and then i can get some sleep. My other brother has resulted to ear plugs. Any ideas will be appreciated.

Get a tape recorder and record them from your room. The girl might talk loud because she's slightly deaf or she may come from a big house and that's the only way they can hear each other in her home.

Otherwise, as soon as the mouth opens - put your fist in it!

why can't he go to her place.....? tell her that she is keeping you awake at night and could she tone it down a little bit, she does not have to shout so loud...it's obvious that they don't think they are doing any wrong...but tell them that the walls are like paper and you can hear everything....also suggest to your bro that he goes to her place now and then....i would not be too happy if i were kept awake all night especially if i had work the next day...just be open and honest and tell them both....together....that this is not working and it needs to be sorted out....failing that...do what your other brother does and invest in some ear plugs...

Well it's time to sit her down and tell her that she is too loud and not respectful of others in the house. Tape record her one day and let her listen to how loud she really is. Sometimes people have to hear themselves to believe it. Tell her to get her hearing checked too, maybe she has hearing loss that's why she shouts.

I'd make her and everyone sign a set of rules to be kept in the house at all times. If they are broken more than 3 times, your out. Sounds reasonable to me, but be sure to give the person enough time to get themselves a new place to stay, but set a time table to find one.

They must sleep at some point. When they do - and you're still awake - go back downstairs. Turn everything back on - same volume - and have a good sing.

When they come downstairs and complain that they are trying to sleep - and they will - you can welcome them to your world!

That should do the trick.

Scream at them from your bedroom to shut up or leave, that is so rude. Or disconnect the tv, hide the stereo/radio, or cut the power completely.

sounds like you should consider what you would say to a stranger and his girlfriend and do likewise. Rules in someones house should be accepted or the door taken.

Listen, sit her down and talk to her - tell her that its great having her around - but the noise is getting to you especially when its time to sleep; it probably doesn seem that loud to her and your brother but it is bothering you and your older brother, and if she can please turn it down.

Just be straight with her, ask her if she could talk quieter, and speak to you're brother too let them know that they are too loud
