First off, congrats on making a very smart, healthy choice!! Though it may seem like hell now, it'll be SOOO worth it in a few years when your lungs have started to heal themselves and you can really start to "stop and smell the roses!"
When it'll end depends on how quickly your body can get it out of your system. Drink plenty of water, especially water w/ a slice of lemon--the lemon helps to clean out your system. I've also heard that grapefruit juice will particularly help to clean out nicotine, but I'm not sure. Hey, it's worth a shot, right?
There is at least one mouthwash on the market that claims to help w/ dry mouth, so you can give that a try too. For insomnia, I'd say try a 1/2 a Unisom at night for (only!) 3 nights to try and re-teach your body that you're supposed to go to sleep.
As for the other stuff, just try to keep it all in perspective. Remember WHY you're quitting and remind yourself that this too shall pass!

The first 24 hours is the toughest, then after that, it's all downhill. The physical parts of the withdrawal will only take about 2 or 3 days and they should be gone. The moodiness and irritability will start to decline as time goes on, but could take a few weeks before they are gone.
GOOD LUCK! Stick with it, and you will be quite happy about the final results.

According to my boyfriend who quit just over a year ago, the addiction never really goes away, but the physical pain from withdrawl took about 2 weeks for him to get over.
Congrats for quitting, though! It is a big achievement, and your body will thank you for it.

EXACTLY~ You feel exactly the way I did when I quit the 1st of August of this year. It fades with time, but for awhile you're on edge big time. Stick with it...don't give up. If you go back to smoking, just remember, it'll be even harder to quit next time.

Anyone I have talked to say day three is the worse ( and I'll agree)then it gets better and better everyday. Hang in there. I'm smoke free for 15 years.

I'm in the same boat, I know what you mean. It's the beggining of day three and it sucks. My Aunt, when she quit, was sick many days in a row, so I'm guessing all this is normal. Hang in there... that's what I keep telling myself.

yeah that sounds like it.. get the tickle in the throat yet?
your body is doing a cleansing.. drink lots of water but if you want to ease the irriitability(which will be one of the last things to go) check with your doctor about a Wellbutrin prescription its worth a bottle!
