All you can do is be the example. As we try to do good deeds and have a positive affect on those around us you will generally see a change for the better in them and the way they treat you. It's unfortunate the world is filled with so much greed and hatred, but I hope to teach my son, that regardless of the way he gets treated, he should take the higher ground and be the leader or example. Life is tough, but I believe somewhere there still exists good inside each of us. If you start from the core and work outward I think life will be just fine for you.

Well I'm the closest I've ever known to follow the path of Christ, and I'm still around; LOL; I'm getting rounder too as the years go by! It's easy for me to be so wonderful, I use Jesus as my guide for many things, well everything really. I ask myself before I do something terrible "What would Jesus do?" and there I am! I like the feeling of being closer to God than everyone else,( I get these jealous notes and emails from the Pope! ) I have to say though it's not just anyone that can handle all this holiness and acts of good like myself. Don't aim too high, go slow at first and if You live as long as I do then You'll see that time is the key to being close to Jesus! Hey, have a Merry Christmas eh!!!!

There are tons of good Christians in the world. You just need to go to the right place. I personally was lost for a little while because I was raised Catholic and I was tired of the elitist attitude that was in the religion. Try going to a non-denominational church, like a worship center they are usually called. They are the best places, I believe, to start going to. When you start to go there, people are friendly and will go out of their way to greet and talk with you. It is a truly an amazing experience to be welcomed so openly, like a church should be. In terms of helping one another, my church paid 1 1/2 months of my mortgage and my bills up to date when I was extremely sick and in the hospital. They have proven to me that there is hope for the world and people do really care about you.

I don't know where you ahve been going to church, but I hope you don't take their behavior as an example of all of us. My church is very warm and welcoming. People are invited to come as they are,and they are immediately greeted as part of the family. They are generous and support many ministries to the less fortunate. They pray for each other. Good Christians still exist. I hope you are able to find a church like mine, and I will pray that you do. Everyone should be so blessed.

I stopped going to church or following a division of Christianity due to the hypocrisy that lives there.

Being good people and having a better life depend on having spirituality within, no matter what your faith is.

Find a caring church family. It may take some time to find the right one. Let the Lord lead you.

I don't like the term "good Christian". It makes it sound like be become perfect when we accept Jesus as our savior. Jesus is the only perfect human ever born, the rest of us are just "works in progress".

~Philippians 1:6 (Amplified Bible) And I am convinced and sure of this very thing, that He Who began a good work in you will continue until the day of Jesus Christ [right up to the time of His return], developing [that good work] and perfecting and bringing it to full completion in you.~

Like the children we are, we try. Sometimes we succeed, sometimes we fail but God loves us regardless and knows what is in our hearts. If the desire to grow more like Christ is in our hearts, God will see it to completion.

God Bless you and your church.

I"m a good Christian. I go to church every week, I help my fellow man, I am non-preachy in my approach to those not of my faith (in fact, I love hearing about other religions because I think it helps me understand other better)
