It says that 'even knowledge will fall away' or something like that. I am a fairly new christian, there are some things I still don't get.

If I knew where that was and I could read it in context I might be able to help you understand it. You say there are things you still don't get. Don't worry, I have been a Christian for 38 years and there are still thing I don't get. You just have to keep studying. Never stop learning. God is so complex that we can never learn all there is to know about Him. He is so awesome though isn't He?!?!

God bless,

As someone else stated, man is imperfect and all that is worldly can be lost. Knowledge and education is very important, but more important that what we learn is "how" we learn. The process of obtaining light and knowledge should be our goal of understanding. As things are revealed we must know how to interpret or apply those things. Good luck being a new Christian, so much to learn, and even more to do.

I think the scripture is referring to human knowledge and God's word is everlasting. Read 1 corinthians 1:25 and 27. For God does not choose the great scholars to bring forth his kingdom but two murders (King david and Saul-Paul), a servant once in the courts of Eqypt who murdered (Moses) ect. Once the judgement comes, I doubt there will be any religion, there will be just God, the angels, Jesus and the Holy Ghost. No need for Wicca, Athiests, or all the christian churches.

Shalom Fire God,

Christians will not be able to answer your question due to their negation of reasoning and selective reading. To say that "even knowledge will fall away" is to say that what is true today will only be partially true tomorrow as you climb the rungs of Jacob's ladder on to completion. Since we are incomplete the knowledge we learn is experimental, and its through this experimental knowledge that we are to evolve from alpha(unknowing) to omega(absolute knowledge). This can also be seen in:

Whom will He teach knowledge? And whom will He make to understand the message? Those just weaned from milk? Those just drawn from the breasts? For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept, line upon line, line upon line, here a little, there a little (Isaiah 28:9-10).

Just like the food you eat, it is temporal and you come back for more so thus the food you partook in has faded away and you seek more to fill your belly. The same for the quote you inquired about.

Peace

Sounds like 1 Cor. 13:8. Here's that verse and the ones below it:

8 Love never fails. But whether there are prophecies, they will fail; whether there are tongues, they will cease; whether there is knowledge, it will vanish away. 9 For we know in part and we prophesy in part. 10 But when that which is perfect has come, then that which is in part will be done away.

This means that, as fallible, imperfect humans, we do not yet have the perfection that will come when we reside with the Father. When that perfection comes, we will not need prophecy or speaking in tongues, because we'll know the Father just as well as He knows us.

Peace.

If you're not a true christian believer then your knowledge on our religion has no use to you. Not being true to your faith will keep you falling to eternal damnation.

The summary for all of this is to PRAY and CARE for others and stop buying items that have no use in your life except pleasure or fake happiness. True happiness lies within another's smile.

That is from 1 Corinthians 13 verse 8. What it is saying that Love is the most important because it never fails. All of the other gifts of the Spirits will cease to important once we reach the perfect world. Faith won't be important to us because we won't need any. Tongues won't be important because we will all be able to communicate clearly and so on. That is some thing to keep close to your heart.

It means that man's knowledge is imperfect and, that in time, what we trust of human knowledge will be proven wrong.
Ex: Diets, Drs say eggs are bad, 10yrs later eggs are great.

Man's so-called "knowledge" is still smaller than God. We think we know a lot. We have "Science", but God controls science. A lot of what we think is so profound is small beans to God.

The biggest trick Satan will ever play on man is to prove that he and God doesnt exist. Just beware of unproven theories that try to put doubt in your mind about God.

Why do you think so many Atheists are motivated to hang out here in the Religious/Spiritual forums and try and prove that God doesnt exist? Who do you think is motivating them?
