how can i make roman blinds?

i recently made a roman blind, to get the rod spacings i took the length of the blind and divided it by seven and marked the divisions. then i sewed a channel between the blind and the backing on every other division to put the rod in, this meant i needed three rods and left me with a three fold blind when it is pulled up. i attached loops to the back of the blind on each of the rods to run the cord through.

it depends how many folds you want in your blind and how big you want them, my folds are about 8 inches, if you want them bigger then increase the distance between your rods. if you know how big you want the folds the rods need to be double that distance apart.

First prepare a list of things which be required in the making of roman blind. Then collect those things. Then follow the stepe below:
1. Cut a piece of 1x1 wood.
2. Select your fabric and lining material and cut the fabric.
3. Pin both layers together.
4. Turn the fabric right side out and iron it flat.
5. Slip stitch the opening closed.
6. Measure and mark the horizontal lines.
7. Sew the plastic loops to the battens.
8. Measure and cut two lengths of cord.
9. Attach the top of the shade to the 1x1.
10. Thread your pull cord through the eye bolt and keep your fold lines clean and neat.
