Meeting a friend for lunch at Holburn tube because it's equidistant for both of us. Does anyone know anywhere nice to go for lunch around there - not too expensive, but not just a coffee shop/deli either?
NB We're both vegitarians.

If you walk up High Holborn, towards the City, about 2 minutes from the tube station, across the big hotel is a Japanese canteen. It's just before the corner of High Holborn and Red Lion Street. It's very fast and delicious and cheap but it's cash only. They have a lot of vegetarian food too.

If you like pancakes you could walk in the other direction, and once you've crossed Kingsway, keep walking and you will come to a restaurant called My Old Dutch, which is crepes etc.. it's okay but a bit overrated.

There is a great Japanese place just at the end of Kingsway down the road from Holborn. There is also a pasta place next door. I would reccomend both. It's 5 mins down the road from Holborn and lush food.
