Cats DON'T LIKE oranges. Daub a little orange-extract on the ribbons. My Stimpy does'nt have this problem; she's free to do what she wants ,so she just sits next to our Arizona Cypress. She loves the scent. Merry Christmas

We're just putting ribbons on last minute, since without anything to make it taste nasty we would have to watch the presents constantly to keep them from being chewed on. Cats do have a tendency to swallow strings and ribbons which can then get tangled in their digestive system, either killing the cat or costing you lots and lots in vet bills to get it surgically removed (which would probably ruin christmas for the cat too). We decided the risk wasn't worth the ribbon.

My cat loved to chew ribbons and bows too - I just put the them on right before presenting the gift. Be careful with the ribbon because they can swallow it and die. Bows are safer - I let her chew on some of them and then tell the person that Felicity was wishing them happy holidays too.

if your packages are under the tree....sprinkle ground pepper over and around the bottom of your tree. Cats hate the smell and it wont scare them like when you spray them with water. I have two cats and they bother everything around my tree until I put the pepper!!!

The cayenne pepper is a great suggestion - EXCEPT - if the pepper is on the presents and the recipient accidentally rubs his eyes, Christmas will not be fun!! Burns like Hel l !!!!
