I'm not sure where it got started but it's kind of a meme on Y!A. Satan rings your doorbell and runs away. It's just what he does! Since, ringing someone's doorbell and running away is kind of a childish prank.

Well you see the person will answer the door, but there'll be no one there. The joke is that normally when you ring a doorbell you stay and talk to the person who opens the door. It's hilariously odd for someone to hear the doorbell but to find no one there.

It's not a Satanist thing....it's a kid's prank. We used to do it to our teachers--ring the doorbell and then run and hide to watch them answer the door with nobody there.
