Someone claimed that jesus gave the law to Moses. The law states over and over again how it is eternal for all generation. It also says that G-d has put two paths before us life (following the law) and death (not following it). G-d then went on to judge the Jewish people for over 1300 years punishing them severely when they strayed from the law.

Now we are to believe that the law means nothing all the matters is belief. Sounds like a liar to me.

Oh my favorite the Law was necessary to show us we are all sinners. Besides that being in direct confrontation to Torah, what you are saying is G-d had to punish people for 1300 years (over 30 generations) to show this? So your god is a sadist.

I think Jesus is, perhaps, the most misquoted person in history.

Well, the laws were given to the Jews. Grace was given to the gentile. With grace, the completion of the law was given through the sacrifice of the final offering, Jesus. That was the end of the need for sacrifice. When the cloth was rent in two after the crucifixion, that was the end to needing a go between with God. Now we can take our needs and sins and thanks to God without needing to go through a rabbi, priests, etc. When God gave the dream to Paul stating that what Jesus had made clean through his sacrifice, meaning all creatures great and small, nothing would be considered unclean, so the food laws became a no longer necessitated law. So It was not a change in direction from God but a fulfillment of all things that originally made laws necessary. You can still follow the law if you wish, but the newtestament states that the gentiles were given grace from these things as well as the jews. And it says that we can only be saved through the belief in Jesus and our acceptance of his sacrifice not the law. Without grace and Jesus, the law is no longer good enough.

Jesus NEVER said the Law doesn't matter. If it didn't matter, He wouldn't have given it! Quantrill, there is not one piece of Scripture that tells you Law-keeping is what makes a person righteous; instead, we read in places such as Psalms that it's your FAITH that matters.

If you believe the Law saves you, I'll give you $1,000. if you can prove you've never violated Leviticus 15:16, or, for that matter, ANY of the 10 Commandments. But remember, the Law stands as one unit, so if you've violated one, you've violated them all. What does this prove to you? That it's impossible to keep the law, no matter how hard you try.

Yeshua came to show humankind that the Law is the standard by which we'll all be judged -- UNLESS we believe in God's New Covenant (Jer. 31:31).

Peace.

No, Jesus confirmed that Jews need to follow the eternal law. Jesus himself was an observant Jew from the West Bank.

The religion of Christianity isn't based on what Jesus said.

Wow! Are you far off the mark!

So, let's see... you think Jesus is a liar, even though you have no idea what Jesus actually said about the Law, Belief, or Moses. Why don't you try reading a book for a change?

Jesus fulfilled the Law when He died on the cross. "...He has made alive together with Him having forgiven you all trespasses, having wiped out the handwriting of requirements that was against us, which was contrary to us. and He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the Cross."

As for your question: Jesus is NOT a liar. It is impossible for God to lie. Satan is the father of all lies. You best read the Bible and learn the Truth for yourself. And if you can't even spell God, then you have a real problem.

First of all, God gave the law to Moses. He had not yet sent his son down to save the world. They were punished for not following Him and not trusting Him. If you do not repent for your sins, you will ultimately be punished with eternal death. God's law is eternal and supersedes any mortal laws. God is not a liar at all. He is loving enough to give us many chances to mess up. He loves us and wants us to be with Him forever. However, it is our free will to choose to accept his invitation. God does not lie and always fills His covenants and promises.

Wow you really told God didn't you. The covenant with Abraham is an everlasting covenant. Jesus full filled it with love and commands us to do the same. So where is the problem? God never told us to forget the old covenant if that were true then He would have threw the Old Testament out when the bible was created

All through the old testament it tells of a savior, messiah who will save the Jews from a bondage of sin. This Messiah was and is Jesus. The Jews rejected him. With Jesus came a new covenant where we didn't have to live by the law..Jesus' shed blood was atonement for our sins.

No, the law was essential to show us that we are all sinners.

Without the law, there would be no need for grace. So, the law is just as important as Christ dying for our sins.

This is my take anyway.
