Leo has been speaking out at every chance he can get for the past few years. He seems to be able to work the subject of global warming into nearly every interview he gives although it is obviously not easy. The media does NOT want to talk about this issue and that is why Leo is trying to when he gets the opportunity during interviews promoting his films. This does not make him popular with many people in Hollywood or the press but still he persists. Credit should be given for his persistence. Very few people will listen when an ordinary citizen tries to speak out on the subject and they have virtually no access to the media. Scientists are gagged, most politicians don't have the guts so who is going to speak up? Luckily there is an actor with the courage to do so! Heard him personally speaking at a special event he held to talk about climate change while he was in Rome promoting The Departed! Leo does work hard on this issue.

I understand the point in the back of your question, yet i imagine human beings are starting to be a touch drained of celebrities promoting a political or activist time table only in accordance with their repute. the reason it is tiresome because there are a kind of human beings which will go "Oh, if Leonardo says it really is authentic, then it must be..." and could fairly make life judgements in accordance with that. properly, gosh they'd be...and typically are...incorrect or worse being misled by using others with an time table. look on the impact of Meryl Streep slamming the apple market on alar. She singlehandedly rather a lot destroyed the market and it grew to grow to be out to be completely pretend. keep in innovations at the same time as Ted Danson envisioned the seas will be destroyed interior of ten years...i have self belief that became about 15 years in the past. there are a kind of alternative examples, although the point is properly-meaning celebrities do impact human beings totally in accordance with their status, and they don't continuously use that potential properly. some human beings resent that. Edit: Jeckepps, you may have self belief inspite of you want...the picture of DiCaprio. yet your question became why human beings responded the way they did to DiCaprio. I responded to that query, no longer some thing else.

Totally agree, all these celebs spending goodness knows what money on private jets/cars/clothes etc and then playing the marytr to the rest of the world about how much they do for the world and its only beacuse they are famous that this has been possible. Well plenty of normal people do alot more for good causes and go completely unrecognised for their efforts. They should get back to acting and stop pretending they actually know what they're talking about.

How sad that we are such a judgemental society. Why mock someone who is trying to make a difference, whether they are a celebrity or an average Joe? Perhaps your energy could be better spent doing something constructive.

Easy does it fella!
(Why you hating so much dude?)

If there weren't celebrities or other public personalities out there talking about important issues some people would NEVER hear about anything that effects them because they may not watch, read or listen to the news...or anything remotely educational.

I give him credit for trying to make a difference... what are you doing?

Celebrities sell better when they have a cause. It doesn't matter if they know doodly-squat about it, as long as they have one.
