Who agrees that athiest make themselves look like idiots when they mock God?

Personally I think we all look like idiots arguing over this kind of thing. People are entitled to their beliefs whatever they may be as long as no one is being harmed. Can we agree on that?

I'm an atheist and I think we need to stop worrying about who believes what. Why not focus on how we can help each other and embrace our different outlooks on things. Lets talk not fight! There can't be one right person because none of us actually knows what happens when we are no longer on this earth.

I don't think that atheists make themselves look like idiots for that.

I do think that some atheists make themselves look mean-spirited when they are mocking the belief of others with insulting terms, though.

If one is truly motivated by a desire to enlighten someone, it's not the best technique. If one is truly motivated by a desire to educate, then mockery is a self-defeating method.

There are some non-believers who admit to their actual motivations - they will tell you that they like to make fun of believers - but most will say that they only want to educate, in which case if they are mocking and insulting, their actions speak louder than their words; they do not have the courage to be self-examining..

In other words, they're just like most humans in that regard.

As a matter of record, atheists of all ages display intelligence well above average. As a group, they are certainly not stupid. This does not prevent them from being arrogant and offensive, which both they and evangelistic believers may be.

It is no easier to demonstrate the nonexistence of a deity than it is to prove such an existence. The most intellectually defensible position is that of the agnostic who simply says he doesn't know.

To drive them out, the KKK burns question marks on their front lawns.

Disagree. As the saying goes, "there are no athiest in foxholes" a true athiest has never had a sincere need when they could find help no where else. Or they have decided to depend on their own power instead of the power of God. No they have a different view of power and do not deserve to be called idiots even if they are wrong.

Any one who mocks another looks like an idiot to me. So whether it is an atheist mocking a theist or a theist mocking an atheist, I think that idiocy plays the leading role. Have a great day!

I wish you bone-headed Christians would learn how to spell A-T-H-E-I-S-T. Nothing makes someone who thinks ultimate truth comes from a book written thousands of years ago by men who thought the world was flat and disease was caused by demons, look more foolish than when they can't spell the name of the group they are calling idiots.

It's okay. Christians make themselves look like idiots when they claim they live under the New Covenant and deny the fact that the "Old Covenant" is still in effect -- doesn't covenant mean... I dunno... ETERNAL PROMISE? In fact, didn't God himself MULTIPLE times call the Covenant he made 'Eternal'?

And since the Old Covenant was the promise of Life... how much of an idiot must Christians be to believe that God is the source of life -- then cut themselves off from the very promise of Life that God made?

They look no more like idiots than Christians do when they say Jesus is G-d. Jesus was a man-a good man, but a man. G-d is One. There is no G-d but G-d.
