I guess you're talking about watches.
Well, Swiss watches may only be called so if they have been made in Switzerland, whichever movement is within the watch. It may be mechanical for winding, mechanical automatic, or it may also be quartz.
Quartz is one possible movement for a watch. It needs always electricity and therefore a battery.
