I would like both to know what these items mean, and from which type of mystery/folk religion they originate?
This is not "my problem" but I am assisting someone whose problem it is.

Just to clarify- I don't want to use these, they were used in a doll given to a friend of mine.
I'm well versed in Christian theology, but not folk paganism.
I have more info on one of my blogs, but I don't know if I can put the link here. A link to it is on my 360 blog.
I'm aiming to understand what message was being conveyed so I can determine what practical or spirutual help I can be to my friend.
Thanks!

Oh, and the feces were old dog feces, probably from a small breed given their size, and not at all fresh- they had hardened and started to get that white coating old dog feces develop when left out. There seemed to be a lot of fine gravel with the feces.
Most people who've seen the doll think it looked like a road kill dog.
There were pins stuck in the ribbon on the "face down" side of the doll.

The Pale Pink Roses
Pale pink roses: grace, gentleness, and gratitude.
Light Pink Roses: A joy to behold, fun and happiness.
"single rose is, in essence, a symbol of completion, of consummate achievement and perfection. Hence, accruing to it are all those ideas associated with these qualities: the mystic Centre, the heart, the garden of Eros, the paradise of Dante, the Beloved, the emblem of Venus and so on." ORIGIN: GREEKS/FOLK
The white ribbon, as other ribbons, is used by political movements to signify or spread their beliefs. It is usually worn on garments or represented in propaganda (posters, leaflets, etc.). It also represents violence against women. Used on the FEMINISM MOVEMENT. ORIGIN: NOT FOUND
With the "black doll with broken leg"-I think it originates from voo doo - A sign for overpowering someone or even peace. It even deals with "old black magic"
Lastly, with the rose thorns-
In Islamic folklore, they symbolize deceit, treachery, and adultery.
HOPE ALL THAT HELPS. Yet weird you would ask questions on those items; unless you're doing some voo-doo /etc. Be careful. :)

The rose was adopted by the Rosicrucians as a symbol of spirituality, the thorns may tie into this. As for feces, I couldn't say what, if any, religious significance it holds.
