Immersion is the best way to learn, If you don't want to move to China or Taiwan, and have no Chinese friends you can room with, audio courses are the next best thing.

I found the best way for myself to keep learning and improving was by watching Chinese TV and movies. Especially listening to Chinese music and reading along with they lyrics.
