Is there a law in the state of Louisiana that controls how much a tow truck service can charge if the tow is ordered by the police?

I don't believe so.

But they typically charge a higher rate for a tow ordered by the police because they usually encounter an angry individual, and sometimes, it can turn ugly. It is a big hassle for them, so they make it worth their time.
