IT'S ABOUT TIME!!!! Hunting is one of the largest hypocrisies in this country- I don't even know where to start on this one! Okay, so it's legal and accepted to hunt deer when it's open season, cause they would just starve to death anyways.... Well then, I should be allowed to stick a bullet in the back of all the homeless/starving people's heads, right? Oh, wait, no, that would be wrong- WTF is the difference??? This whole hunting thing should be banned, I couldn't agree more! You're a brilliant man, one of a kind!

Just killing an animal for the sake of killing an animal IS inhumane. However, most hunters, like myself, hunt for food. Sure, if we kill something that we are proud of, I see nothing wrong with mounting an animal for display.

I agree with another poster that hunting is already regulated enough.

Also, consider that if we don't kill animals every once in awhile, there will be an increase of vehicle accidents where an animal is hit on the road. More animals will attack humans due to lack of living space AND we'd all be forced to be vegetarians because if we can't HUNT animals, why should we SLAUGHTER them to purchase ground beef, chicken, quail, etc. at the grocery store?

Hunting is a must in order to help keep the population of animals down.If it weren't for hunters there would be so many game animals walking around trying to find food and walking into traffic on highways that it would be very dangerous.Hunting helps everyone by decreasing population,it brings revenue to parks and communities.Hunting helps create jobs for Department of Natural Resources and Department of Parks and Recreations.Every hunter is required to buy a hunting license each year and this money helps support these jobs and many other programs.

I think you are confused. Unless hunters are poaching they are not the problem. If anything they are helping the problem because rather than buying store based meats they are obtaining their own. The problem is the meat industry and NOT hunting. Might want to take some time to do some research before you go throwing ignorant stereotypes around like "redneck wankers". Education can be a powerful thing.

Absolutely!! It would be far less sick and more humane to just let them over eat their resources and starve to death.
Here's the problem and you're part of it: we (mankind) have developed and encroached on wildlife habitat so much that wildlife needs controlled harvesting to maintain healthy populations. This was proven in Florida many years ago. An end was put to the hunting of Key Deer in the everglades. In two years there were hardly any Key Deer to be found (alive that is) because they had no food left.
You might be interested to know that in many areas there are actually more animals than there were 100 years ago. Hunters and fishers contribute more toward preserving and protecting wildlife than any other group.
No, you have a bad idea if you really love animals. As long as you're going to eat what you shoot or catch, you're doing a very good thing.

I think hunting animals for the sport is sick and inhumane but if its used for food than that should be permit. Because animals are a big part of our world, they help maintain natural order.

We as man have been hunting since our begining. Personally Im sick of the "Bann Hunting" people because they are the same ones who say dont shoot the guy in a car speeding toward our troops in the middle east. Your messing with something you dont have a clue about clearly. As the ol saying goes, worry about you and yours, and leave me and mine alone.

Banning guns, Hunting, all the same. If you bann hunting, undoubtedly you will become the hunted !

The answer is No ! If you dont like it, dont do it. Kinda like driving a car. Some dont like traffic. Should we bann cars ? No, just stay off the road !

Mankind has been hunting animals for their food and other products since.....well, since before we were men. Many large primates are omnivores, they eat both meat and plants. Of course, predatory carnivores can be found in every strata of the animal world.

The instinct to hunt is part of man's very nature. It is good and right and well...natural.

With the millions and millions of animals that will die of starvation for lack of predators, it seems that banning hunting is the last thing we should do. I'm struck by the number of people that either seem not to care about starving deer, or lack the realization that their nubmers need to be thinned. By the way, most deer hunters do, in fact, eat the meat.

I think hunting is already regulated enough, and it is much less sick to kill an animal with a single gunshot in the woods than to raise and kill it just for food. Ever seen a slaughterhouse? Do you know what they feed the food you eat? Nothing but nature in my venison.

How about you keep your opinions and those who disagree will keep theirs? In a free society, people have choices. Just because you dislike something, does not mean that you have the right to stop others from doing what they want to.

I have no interest in hunting and have no interest in banning it.
