I personally think Chuck is going to knockout that big headed p rick out cold. Tito got lucky last time that he decided he would just fall over to get the ref to stop it. If Chuck lands one hard enough he will have that big jaw wired shut for about 6 weeks. Tito won't be albe to take Chuck down either. Chuck's sprawl is phenominal. If Tito gets to anxious looking for that take down he is going to catch an uppercut just like BABALOO the Babboon.

EDIT: Solido- that thumb wasn't intentional. I mean they are both throwing fists at eachother something like that is bound to happen sooner or later. Its fighting. If you can't take a thumb in the eye maybe your in the wrong sport. And as far as Tito clinching and trying to take Chuck down. That was exactly my points against Tito. If he does try to clinch he is going to get punched, if he trys to shoot Chuck will sprawl, and if Tito gets overly agressive which you know he will, he is going to chase Chuck and you saw what happened to Babaloo. UPPERCUT!!! Tito is a good fighter and if Tito did get the fight to the ground maybe he would win, but Chuck's sprawl is awesome.

Jake- I totally respect your pick as to who will win because it was the basis of my question, but I hope your not implying that Tito is more skilled or a better fighter than Chuck. Chuck is a world class kick boxer, collegiate wrestler, and an awesome striker hence all of the knockouts he has.

Excellent point Adam G. My thoughts exactly but you took it into more detail.

I think Adam G made an excellent points. Chuck has proven himself time and again by fighting very tough competitors. I hate Tito, but he DOES have SOME talent. However, I don't think he has enough to put up a good fight with Chuck Liddell. Anyone who can outlast Chuck's punch of steel deserves the belt, but I don't think Tito will win. I think Chuck is going to knock him out in 1 minute, first round.
.... the winner and STILLLLLL the Light Heavyweight Champion of the world..... CHUCK "THE ICEMAN" LIDDELL!!! I can't wait to hear it. I am so stoked for this fight!

Liddell will beat him. He hasn't lost in like 3 years, he has amazing takedown defense, he's the fastest striker I've ever seen in my life (in MMA), and he has finess/endurance. What else do you need. He has the perfect weight and height for it and I don't see him losing for atleast another 3 years (if he doesn't get injured along the way).
When comparing the two, don't bring up Chuck Liddell fights that took place 3 years ago. That was a long time ago and he's alot better today than he was when he went against that Rampage guy. Plus there's no way that the thumb was intentional. If he can be that accurate with his punch (to be able to thumb him) then I don't see why he would have to play dirt; he could just knock him out instead.
And what does Tito have? He has 3 wins against a 42 year old, played out, senior citizen who should've been out of the game like 7 years ago. If you put Tito Ortiz against Couture, he would definately lose. Compare Tito's last 5 opponents to Chucks and tell who had it better.
On December 30th it's gonna be Chuck Liddell's win, hands down. BTW, if Tito Ortiz wasn't such and arrogant hothead I wouldn't be so against him but I CAN'T STAND loud mouths, especially when they're not the best.

Chuck Liddell will win...
Chuck liddell is just a lot better rounded than Tito, and Tito's going to be always looking for a takedown, and Chuck Liddell will just sprawl. Chuck Liddell's striking skills are better than titos, and that will end the fight. If the fight goes to the ground, Chuck is very good at ground fighitng as well, hence his collegeate wrestling skills will go to place.
Tito will be knocked out, 2nd round 1:30

There is a possibility that Tito will win -- but it will be tough. I don't think Tito will knock out LIddell or even get him to a ground and pound situation (no one, it seems, can get Liddell to the ground these days). However, if TIto lasts to the end, there is a good chance that he will rack up more points than Liddell and win. Can't predict either way - just predict a good fight with two hungry opponents.

I want Tito to win, but i dont think he will...Also if you remember, Tito stood up with chuck and did quite well in the 1st round of thier fight. Titos best chance to win is to avoid eating the big bomb, and hopefully chuck will gas in the late rounds and tito can maybe ground and pound him just like couture did to liddell.....tito definately has better cardio than chuck, and i think that is the one thing tito has going for him. If tito can survive and stay fresher than chuck, he can beat him in the late rounds.....but i think that is the only way he can possibly win.

Everyone loves to look at the last fight, so I will begin with that. Chuck and Tito used to train together. During that time, Tito won the title and Chuck became the #1 contender. However, Chuck didn't receive a title shot immediately, because Tito was ducking him. Randy Couture ended up with the belt, and then Chuck was able to fight Tito. Tito lost. Not because he was poked in the eye or because he thought they were friends. He lost because he tried to stand with Chuck, and only one fighter has survived going toe to toe with The Iceman (Rampage Jackson). Aside from that one fight history, let's examine the last fighters each has faced. Chuck has fought and beaten Randy Couture, Vernon White, Jeremy Horn, and Babalu Sobral all in the first round. Tito has fought and beaten Ken Shamrock, Forrest Griffin Patrick Cote, and Vitor Belfort. Ortiz squeezed out a decision victory against Griffin, and had easy wins over two has beens. Chuck dominated #1 contenders. Chuck has had the stiffer competition and looked better winning his fights. Every one keeps asking "If Tito takes Chuck down..."
The last person to take down Chuck was Randy Couture 6 or 7 fights ago. And "If Tito takes Chuck down," Chuck will get the fight back to it's feet and keep swinging away. It's true Tito got poked in the eye in the first fight, but that shouldn't stop a fighter from attempting a shoot or simply circling until vision returns. If you've read this far, you know my pick is Chuck (TKO round 1). I'll be on the wire December 31st gloating...
Okay to Sigma and Corrupt... The UFC just took over the WFA where Rampage is currently fighting. He will be fighting Chuck soon. Watch their first fight again, Chuck had him backing up and got caught on the counter. A lesson he has learned and utilized to his advantage.
Tito is hoping to take the fight into the later rounds? Watch the fight against Forrest Griffin. Tito gassed in the second round and only had one take down after the first round. Don't count out Chuck durability, I used to train with him in SLO, and he will last well into the later rounds...he just never has to.

I've got to pick Liddell over Ortiz. Why? Well, for ONE thing, even though they keep pointing out that Ortiz has won his last 5 fights, think about it for awhile. 3 of those were against Ken Shamrock! And one of the others was against Forest Griffin who took him to a decision (and many people thought won the match). I don't even remember the other person he's fought. Doesn't matter. Liddell will control the fight and we may have seen the last of Ortiz for awhile after that.
