Water pills are also considered to be diuretics. Most doctors prescribe these for patients that have high blood pressure and swelling. The diuretics work by eliminating excess water and fluid that builds up in your body. They are only necessary if you have medical conditions that require you to have the medical need for them. If you are wanting to take them to try and lose weight-----BAD BAD IDEA. This is not what these pills are used for. If you want to lose weight with water, then drink 8-12 glasses of water a day. Water pills can deplete your body of potassium and sodium and cause your levels to go dangerously low. That is why the doctors have to closely monitor patients that are on diuretics(waterpills).

water pills are diuretics. meaning they are used to help people loose excess water weight. depending on how much water weight u need to loose you might need a doctors Rx. they can be dangerous if taken carelessly. they can mess up the electrolyte levels in your body that can mess up the rest of your body functions. some people like to use them to loose weight. it is not very effective because all they do is make you loose water weight.
you can take midol, the pill you use for cramps when your on your period to help you feel less bloated when you'r on your period. it contains a dieuretic in less dangerous amounts. it will make you pee more than usual. (hence, help u loose water weight)

Water pills are given to people with high blood pressure. It's causes your body to rid itself of excess water so that it cures hypervolemia, which in turn causes your blood pressure to go down. It's not a good idea to take them if your blood pressure is normal, as it can cause you to become very tired and fatigued, and possibly put you into hypovolemic shock which is really not good.

water pills (aka diuretics) reduce the volume of water and sodium in your body. They work by getting your kidneys to excrete sodium in your urine which takes water out of your system with it. Of course they're not bad for you, they're medicine....made for people who might otherwise die of congestive heart failure...and other things....but predominantly congestive heart failure.....they are healthy although they do bring with them risks such as dehydration....you can get them by prescription from a doctor...but you shouldn't just take them just to take them....
