If you are uncomfortable with "dirty talk" no big deal, a lot of people are. IMO, having sex with someone who makes no noise at all can be a bit distracting. You can let someone know if they are doing something you like (moan, "that feels good", etc.) without getting graphic.

Everybody's different. I find that I don't like talking during intimacy because for me it detracts from the intensity of the physical experience- I must concentrate with all my energy on that aspect BUT that's just me. My ex used to insist on dirty talk and moans and groans because that is what enhanced his arousal- it used to make me mad because I had to "fake" moans and groans. We are no longer together...

being intimate is not intimacy --- intimacy is telling each other anything and everything --- other people would not be interested in what is being said --- intimacy is getting closer and closer to the person and does not need to involve sex
so it may be normal to not say a lot while being intimate but you still need to open up and let your partner know what you are thinking

Men have two heads, most only have enough blood to operate one at a time.
Women on the other hand.........most do like some chat during sex.

It's a matter of choice and what you are feeling at the time. If you have to 'think' about what to say and when, and that's just "not you", then it won't work.

if you're role playing, or enjoying it, yes, some people talk during regular stuff, but most are rather silent, or muffled moans.
