Tomorrow, I'll be in a White Castle eating contest. The first one to eat 30 burgers wins. I want to know how I should prepare. Should I eat nothing that day? Should I eat very little that day? If so, what should I eat? How much water should I drink? Or should is there something else I should drink?

Sonya "The Black Widow" Thomas is a 105 lb. eating contest champion who trains for her contests by eating only one, very large meal a day; she then fasts the night before her contests to put an edge on her hunger. She also works out a lot and it is said that she has an advantage over heavier contestants because she does not have a "ring of fat" surrounding her stomach that limits her intake.

I can tell you that you are more likely to be able to eat more in one sitting if you practice eating one large meal a day for a long time, but since your contest is tomorrow, I guess fasting overnight would be the best. (If you fast longer than that, you tend to have less capacity when you finally break your fast--I know from experience of 24 hour fasting weekly vs. a couple of times when I fasted a whole weekend. I could not eat as much thereafter.)

I hope this helps, and good luck tomorrow!

P.S. You should be ok with White Castles; they're pretty juicy; you shouldn't need that much water. Turkey is the hardest to eat a lot of since it tends to be dry. But a minimum of water to avoid swallowing pain would probably help.

Ed Krachie was the Nathan's Hotdog Eating Champ several times. When he was asked what he was doing to practice, he said he put his food in a bowl on the floor. He had a German Shepard and a Rotweiller; he put their food in bowls on the floor and they all raced to see who could eat the fastest. He ALWAYS beat his dogs! How fast do you have to eat to beat a Rotweiller?

I've watched this contest several times and most of the winners dip the hotdog, bun and all, into a cup of water to lessen the chewing time and make it all slide down easier.

You are going to eat 30 belly-bombers? Good luck!

Try to relax.
Don't eat too much.
And, remember, don't let the competition get to you.
If you don't feel well after some burger, stop.
Don't drink too much either. For me, water fills me up more than food. xD
