in the beginning, no person, not even the superb human beings in this talk board, has the suited to tell you you're a foul Jew. actual, i don't think there is the variety of ingredient. There are bored Jews, ignorant Jews, lazy Jews and non-working in the direction of Jews, yet none of those are undesirable Jews. (possibly in case you ripped off some billion money from some thousand investors, we would call you a foul Jew). the main serious ingredient approximately being Jewish is to attempt a splash greater at present than you probably did the former day. meaning, save gaining expertise of slightly. attempt do yet another stable deed daily or perhaps each month. that's Chanukah good now, attempt easy some Chanukah candles. Use the internet to envision greater approximately your Judaism. are not getting hung up on the subject of the Batmitzvah, that's not a make-it-or-smash-it for being Jewish. What i might recommend is calling a Temple that would not base itself on paying contributors. Judaism shouldn't comprise a cost. i'm specific, in case you go searching, you will hit upon a Temple (shul) that would not fee for club. you will in all probability additionally locate that the rabbi and rebbetzin there will be friendly and approachable. stable success!

All the Jewish holidays. They also celebrated weddings.

This is one thing that I'm curious about with the Jehovah's Witnesses. In the Bible there are lots of references to people, including Jesus, celebrating various holidays and special occassions, yet the JW's don't believe in celebrating anything like that. Why is that?

The Roman Empire was in control of the region back then and they worshiped many Gods...as did the Greeks.

The holidays related to the worship of these Gods, and tended to fall on solstice events etc. Our current holidays Easter, Christmas etc. tend to generally fall on the same dates.

In the American continent the Mayans were in control and celebrated according to sun and moon events the as well.

They would have celebrated all the holidays commanded by God (ex. Succoth, Feast of Tabernacles, Passover, etc) plus holidays not required by God, such as Hanukkah (see John 10:22) and Purim (see Esther 9:18-32).

Peace.
