We had an inspector come out and do testing to certify our house as an Energy Star certified house. We are getting it appraised next week - will this raise the value of our house?

Only if you're selling it today. If you sell 10 years from now, you'll have to recertify to probably new standards. Congratulations.

In general, it will raise value.
In particular, it depends on your neighbourhood. If you are in an area where it's common to have newer houses (with more efficient windows and insulation, etc), you will be just catching up with your value.
People haven't started to reward appropriately "energy efficiency" in real estate market yet. If you have a house powered with wind turbine and solar panel but located in a crime ridden portion of the city, you are still not going to get what it's worth.
Let's hope it will change though! Congratulation on taking the steps. Doesn't it feel great to get the Star? I hope you get what you deserve and more on your appraisal.

Unfortunetly appraisers do no longer care and it received't influence the appraised fee. Any appraiser or someone knowledgable contained in the market will inform you an same. there is honestly no longer something on a residential appraisal record that refers to this as a fee indicator on a house. Use it as a promoting aspect at the same time as or in case you ever settle on to promote your position.
