Easy one...It probably means the EX part was already in the works, maybe your EX was well on his or her way to a new relationship before the bottom dropped out. Maybe the "move-on" had already taken place and when the deal was sealed, and they were confident that the new relationship was doable, ( all angles covered ) all that was left to do was to drop you and leave you thinking ...Hmmmm, what happened, my ex has moved on, I haven't even come back to earth yet...What's up with that?
in a nut shell ...your ex had someone else before you two broke up. Your hearts broken and theirs isn't.

people deal with stuff in different ways. sometimes its helpful to get back out there and date, which i'm sure is what your ex is doing, and sometimes its helpful to take some time to be alone with yourself, which is what youre doing. dont let his actions dictate how your heart mends itself. do what you need to do for yourself and everything will fall into place. response to the details you added: if it would cause you too much pain to see him right now, ask a friend or mutual friend to call him and get your keys from him. its possible that he knew you would find out about his date and did it just to see how you would react because he still has feelings for you. that would also explain why he still has your keys, because maybe he is planning on trying to work things out after he makes you jealous. either way, it sucks, and i'm sorry you are so hurt by him. definitely get a friend to retrieve your keys unless he tries to contact you himself.

Ok, that would hurt. But I would tell myself that he is:
A) not affected by it because he is completely shallow and incapable of the depth of feeling required to feel hurt
B) affected by it but hiding it because he can't be honest with himself, let alone another person
and in either case I am better off without him.

I would be happy for her. Everyone deserves to be happy and if she was miserable in a relationship with me, I wouldn't want it to continue on any longer than it would have to.
If you guys broke up, why would you be in the least bit concerned about him and what he is doing? I understand that breaking up is hard to do but once the relationship is over, then you have no business thinking about your ex.

It would devastate me while it was happening. Then I would realize "Good riddance!" because he was so shallow and I deserved better.
No one wants to be in a relationship with a revolving door. The new relationship will end as quickly as it started.

Sweetie, was he supposed to sit around crying over you? Was he suppose to get your permission first?
You broke up. End of this chapter. Start of the next. Time for you to move on too.
