I tell people the same thing post after post reply after reply. Since we have taken the War on Terrorism to their turf, i.e. Iraq and Afgahnistan, we have not had a single terrorist attack on our soil, and this is were MY children rest their heads at night. When people think this war is about oil and not freedom they are terribly ignorant. We are fighting for a free way of life, free of terrorist attacks, and that is why our beloved Soldiers volunteer to fight, and continue to do so. I and fellow Soldiers al over truly believe in our mission over there and will stay the route to successful mission accomplishment.

I agree with you for the most part. The war on terrorism is a must, and we should support our boys/girls over there 100%. 9/11 was a horrible day, and I remember it clearly.
In fact, I was in the Marine Corps on that day and was training in the desert because you never know when we might have to go to the Middle East. Definition of ominous.
However, Iraq wasn't part of the plan. Somewhere along the way our president decided that while we're already over there, "Why not hit Saddam, too?" Granted, Saddam neded to be taken out of power. He was a ruthless dictator and deserves the punishment he's been awarded. I just don't think it was our (America's) place to decide how and when it should be done.
I also truly feel that if we pulled out, most of the violence would stop. They're fighting because we are there. Yes, there are sectarian issues, but not so many that a properly trained Iraqi police force couldn't hold their own. Solution: Get their behinds trained and get out.

Agreed. The problem is the MEDIA and the stupid Con theories on this.
I have been trying to figure out this "free" oil thing:
If oil was the reason: why in the heck do Gas prices sit so high??
I have yet to see a line of tankers sitting in Iraq waters.
But as a side note: America did support WW2 better yes. But, after the Media got involved at Iwo Jima and showed the negative side of war. Americans started to doubt. And we started up a small draft into the military.

To any of our brave soldiers of the US:
Thank you! I stand by you, and unwaveringly support you, and thank you especially for what you're doing...which is something I can only say, nothing short of heroic! Because of you...and your courage to stand up, I feel safer that a terrorist/s won't come and blow up my family. So for all its worth, and from the core of me..I salute you and want you all safe...but, please feel free...to go and keep hell packed high with the fresh souls of terrorists/insurgents, and perhaps mohammed will sort them all out.
You Rock!
Our nation was attacked. The people of our nation were murdered! All of them innocent. Our public service people firefighters, police, all of the folks in the towers, and the pentagon, onboard the 4 planes, ....non of them guilty of any crime, none of them justified to die. We will and can't ever forget them...or the attack itself.
Those responsible are deeply ingrained into the worlds comings and goings...and they must be found. Some have been, but their coward leader still remains out there...pissing us off that he has not been killed- or captured. How can we forget Osama bin Hiden? You can't. I hope he dies in all the pain felt by the thousands he murdered all at once when he finally does. Because of him...I now know what it feels like to truly hate something...I hate them.
Good point you have here...I salute you friend for sparking awareness that our nation MUST cleanse the world of the filth, and coward yellow-bellied terrorists.
You are a true American.

I agree! I was half mile from the Pentagon on 9/11 and I will NEVER, ever forget it. Neither will my family - we lost a cousin in the WTC in NY.
Too many others, though, have just let it slip to the backs of their minds. Well, I will tell you that the horror of that day will live forever in my mind, and I will never stop supporting our troops, or the war on terror to make sure such a thing never happens in America again.
I think that as far as why there have been no further attacks, it is due to the war, due to The President's dedication and hard line. And I am all for that.
God Bless the USA!

Exactly. One of my pet peeves is when that Lee Greenwood "I'm Proud to be an American" song is played and everybody stands up during that "I'd gladly stand up next to you and defend her still today..." part and 99.9% of those people are too lazy to even send a soldier a post card. Most people really don't care because the whole deal, not 9/11, nor the ongoing war effects their life one bit. They can't seem to understand that the same type of people who carried out 9/11 would gladly detonate a nuke in downtown Atlanta.

if the effort in Iraq wasn't half-planned, it wouldn't look so bad. people who initially supported the war, have a problem now because we shouldn't be losing so many troops after the major combat is over. we are being killed for babysitting a group of people that just want to get their lives back together. there needs to be a real plan for getting our people out of there.
i can never forget 9/11

Amen. All the libs forget about who is really paying the price and making the sacrifices so that they can speak their drivel. More power to out troops, particularly as they make sacrifices during this holiday season.

I couldn't agree with you more.
Also, the terrorist attacks have stopped here in great part because of the Patriot Act, so people can just stop whining about that too.
And quit carrying on about the idiots they have in Gitmo, unless you want to see them sitting next to the emergency door on your next plane trip.
WE WILL NEVER FORGET!!!!

I don't believe the terrorist have quit, they are just waiting for the right time to attack. I hope that they are stopped before it happens. I have wondered whether or not they will attack our food supply. Is enough being done to protect it?
