Is their a myth behind it? Can someone clear this up for me?

As a parent you should trust your instincts and intuition on decisions like this, for they are perhaps the strongest, most genuine instincts we feel as humans..
Your child will also give you small clues (even without being able to talk) if their hair or anything else is bothering them. Too many parents treat their children as subordinates and make decisions without even trying to consider what the child truly wants or needs... or moreso, what their child is trying to communicate to them.
With that said... pay attention to your child, listen to them, love them... and you'll almost always know what to do for them.

i don't know about any myth...
I had curly hair as an infant, my mom cut the curls off (which left me with a "Moe" cut, which was quite hideous) and ever since i had bone straight hair. Today, my hair can't hold a curl..gone in minutes after a curling iron and hairspray.

i dont know about a myth but i dont cut my kids hair cause it will fall out any ways and really for infants how long do they really hold still to have there hair cut

He had his first haircut at 6 months previous as all had fallen out and grew returned different than for on authentic and he had a comb over. In some countries it is traditionally to cut all the hair off after one month. There is no ill effect, the hair will grow back.

I believe it is cultural. And I've also heard the opposite, too. I was told to cut a child's hair as early as possible to promote new and stronger hair growth. Believe what you choose and do what you feel is best.

I have never heard of this. As soon as my daughters hair started getting into her eyes, which I think was about 6 months, I trimmed the bangs. Nothing happend!

infants will naturally lose their hair until they are about 6 mos to a year

i have never heard this either.. my son is 15 months old and his hair grows really fast.. he has had a few hair cuts.. i think he looks too cute with it... :-)
