Truth is fact. Truth exists outside of perception. Truth is reality.

truth seems like it would be repeatable, verifiable, testable. Obviously if we're talking about the truth of a historical event such as the shooting of John Kennedy we can't repeat it, we may not be able to verify it or test it. In that case all we know is that the truth lies in the interesection of the testimony of credible witnesses. Here you could point to the Gospels and say the truth of Jesus' life lies in those four stories (plus the gnostic gospels? why are they not part of the testimony?). And you are still left to ask whether their testimony is complete or hearsay. Think of the judges admonition to a witness to tell the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth and then ask if the people telling the story *actually* saw what they're saying happened or that they heard it from somebody else.
The truth is not the exclusive dominion of The Bible and there are many myths therein. Separating truth from fiction requires judgment.
Edit: oh yeah, truth and belief are independent. Believing something doesn't make it so; truth may be incredible.

Jesus is Truth. He was sinless and spoke only truth. So everything that he said is truth.
This is Truth, "I am the way the truth and the life, no one comes to the father but through me"
Here's a few more
Joh 1:14 -
The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the One and Only, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.
Joh 1:17 - Show Context
For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.
Joh 1:51 - Show Context
He then added, "I tell you the truth, you shall see heaven open, and the angels of God ascending and descending on the Son of Man."
Joh 3:3 - Show Context
In reply Jesus declared, "I tell you the truth, no one can see the kingdom of God unless he is born again."

I believe the particular Scripture you are referring to is Matthew 18:37, 38: "For this I have been born, and for this I have come into the world, that I should bear witness to the truth. Everyone that is on the side of the truth listens to my voice.” Pilate said to him: “What is truth?”"
Truth can be defined as the body of real things, events, and facts. But here Jesus was not bearing witness to truth in general. He had a specific truth in mind, that of the good news of God's Kingdom, for which he taught his followers to pray and which he made the primary emphasis of his life.

Truth is the fact about a matter which is not subject to change and is not dependant on any factor whether past, present or future.
For us christians, Jesus is the truth and he reveals himself in our heart as we study the bible with the help of the Holy spirit.

If you're a Christian, Truth (note the capital "T") is your religious leader's interpretation of what is in the Bible.
For the real world, "truth" is how things really are - for example, that New York is north of Miami, that neurons communicate electrochemically, that the Cardinals won the last World Series, etc.

God's Word.
God’s Word is His Spirit the Spirit of truth or the Holy Spirit. Not the printed text but God’s will, plan, thoughts, wisdom, knowledge, and His feelings the printed text conveys.
You have heard the term born again, well the true definition means born from above, born of His Spirit, His Word, the Spirit of truth.
