The best way my family has found is to cook it like chiken fries steak....get a batter of milk and a couple of eggs....and a plate of flour with seasoning in it....dip the meat into the milk and then coat in the flour and fry till golden brown...serve with gray & mashed potatos....ummmmm good!!!!

Backstrap? I've never heard that term before.
The guys at work make Deer Jerky.
My Mother used to roast the meat like you do beef,
and broil the steaks. She also used the meat in stews.
Deer burgers were good to. Mix the grounded deer meat
with some grounded beef. Cook with it just like you
would with hamburger. Meat loafs, meat balls...

it don'tget any better than slicing it about 1/4 inch thick, dredging it in flour and frying it til it's golden brown. Make gravy with the dripping and bake a pan of hot bisquits and whip up some mashed potatoes. ENJOY
