I have naturally dark brown hair, but it was colored light brown with caramel highlights (That's what I need touched up at the roots). Will a few thin light highlights give me a little edgier look? My only limitation is that my husband asked me not to go with blue or purple streaks, so other than that, almost anything goes. Any advice?

I would try some thin lighter blonde streaks, red just so you know washes out pretty easy even if it's permanent.

Something that might be good for you is a peek-a-boo highlight. If your stylist know how to do them, you can get any color and see them only some of the time. (like when hair is up or something like that) My sister has a medium brown hair color with an awesome pink peek-a-boo highlights it looks great.

What color is your hair? i would put in some highlits that are opposite your hair color..example: if your hair is dark brown do a few blonde hlites but only a few strands of the hair....

im getting mine done today too.... But anyways,try chunky highlights!!!Or what about a couple red streaks!!! That looks good with dark hair!!!! Best of luck to you and i hope it turns out good!!!!

well if he doesnt like blue or purple get some red...get some redish browish color...like som kinda amber color done. It really sets nicely. It isnt to wild but it isnt just gonna look like ya did nothing.

If you already have highlights, go with lowlights. I think it looks awesome.
