This might get expensive, but buy a package of Hostess Snowball treats for each kid.
Buy some raisins, chocolate chips, candy corn (for the nose)..and let them make snowmen. Lay the Snowballs on a plate, one above the other. Get red licorice for a smile. Be creative with the candy/goodies to decorate with. Good luck.

Someone else already mentioned my Krispy treats idea, so here's a new one....I got some tiny Christmas cookie cutters from Wilton...tree, angel, gingerboy, candycane, hollyleaf and a bell. Got 'em at Wallyworld, in a little boxed set. Anyhow, get some sliced cheddar or mozzerella cheese, or both, get some little holiday ritz and make cheese shapes to put on the crackers.
The teachers will appreciate less sugared snacks, and most kids love cheese and crackers. If you're veggie, get soy cheese. Or slice a block of tofu thin and sprinkle cutouts w/cinnamon&sugar or sprinkles. MMMM!

Peanut butter blossoms are always a hit. The recipe is simple and it makes a lot. You can find the recipe online at recipes.com. If you still want the recipe to be easier, buy Betty Crocker Peanut Butter cookie mix and it has the recipe on the back.

something that always seems to go over well, ive seen, i s christmas mice... with a candy cane, some red and green felt {or that new foamie paper stuff} some googley eyes, and a pom for the nose, you can make a mouse. with one color, make a tear drop shape. with the alternating color, make a figure 8 shape{dont make the center to skinny} glue 2 googley eyes anda nose to the pointed end of the tear drop, make 2 incisions behind the eyes, and slide the figure 8 shape thru {to make ears}. the candy cane, you thread thru the loop made from the ears on the underside of te body. the curve @ teh end of the loop makes the tail of the mouse. if you decide to make these, try a few in plain paper, till you get the sizes right.. as a rule, you should be able to fit 8 - 10 bodys on one piece of felt {depending on placement}

Take the pretzels in the round shape and dip in white chocolate, can tint green, decorate with tiny cinnamon candies for holly berries,
or take the pretzels that are in the twist shape. Dip them in brown chocolate, dip 2 pretzel sticks per pretzel twist and attach for antlers. While still wet, put two m & m's on for eyes, and a cinnamon hot for nose.
OR---take Cornflake type of cereal, and make as if making rice krispie treats. Add green food coloring to the marshmallow and butter mixture. Instead of laying out in a pan, dip up by 1/3 cup measuring cup fulls. Lay out on waxed paper and quickly make holes in the middle to form wreaths. Add cinnamon hots around the wreaths while wet to form holly berries.

i cant really think of any off the top of my head but you should check out kraftfoods.com they have really great ideas for young children and holiday parties some you make at home and take in to the class others are so easy that you can have the whole class make them at the party and most only consist of two or three items and are not messy at all. good luck

You might laugh, but those new "Ready to Bake" Pillsbury cookies are ggggggrrrrrrreat! They come in different flavors (they have a Christmas cookie version), and you don't hardly have to do anything but put them in the oven. My kids helped "so called" make these cookies and had a ball. It was great for me because it left no mess, and they thought they were doing something. Good luck! :)

Small pretzels, with a hershey kiss on top, put in warm over and when it comes out press a red or green m&m on top. They are very tasty -- this articles suggests the waffle pretzels. We just had these at my daughter's ballet party.
The nice thing is they are small. Kids always throw out so much food at these things....I am for small stuff.
