Of course you go. You aren't going to the Christmas party to show off. You are going to meet his co-workers. His Christmas party is a big deal for HIM. You are there to just help make him look good, and your physical appearance isn't part of it. Just wear something that you look good in and you'll be fine.

First I want to say don't listen to what "Dragonfly" wrote.....How rude! I used to be very thin but now I am also overweight. I know sometimes it can not be helped. I am struggling with a similar situation. Only mine is a party with people I went to high school with a little over 30 yrs. ago! I was a size 5 then and am a 16 now. I have a thyroid problem and hate to go anywhere also feeling self conscious. My husband kids and says he is going to buy me a Tshirt that says "Sorry I have a thyroid problem.....get over it!" If you know any of the people your husband works with and have seen them they know what you already look like right? Just go out and buy something dark that fits nice and try to have fun! If you feel uncomfortable once you get there just try to spend most of your time sitting down at the table. Good luck!!

Of course you should go. You might be surprised to find that a nice smile and friendly attitude toward others are much more appealing than a skinny butt. Go, meet people with confidence. Be interest in what they have to say. Smile a lot and you will find yourself having fun. You always hear that men are attracted to beauty. While that may be so, how do you explain all the couples that don't look like models. It is vasty overrated.

There are women who are overweight and look absolutely fabulous...if you have a great outfit that you love, your hair and makeup are done terrific...why not go and show them how stunning you are. Your husband will be proud of you ... he loves you and wants to show you off to everyone.

Go, have fun, for the holidays at least...be happy with YOU, don't be so hard on yourself...what you see in the mirror is viewed with a far more critical eye than that which others see you. You see the weight...others see the whole person...smile, laughter, well put together...

Besides, when we see oursleves as overweight...sometimes it's only because we are perhaps only somewhat over the "average" for our height...sometimes that weight looks fabulous on us...as viewed by others but we are our own worst enemy and most stringent critic.

Go, enjoy, love yourself for all of your great qualities and stuff the weight issue on the back burner for awhile...you deserve to enjoy yourself. Then if after the holidays you choose to go on a diet...your goal can be to get to the weight you want so that you can really wow them all next year.

Of course, as happened to me...you just might get that WOW on and the company won't have a party next year because they just finished building a new building for their parent company and now they are building one for their sister company!!! I have no parties this year, that sucks...will have to create one I guess :)

Have fun!!!!

Yes, if you want to go then go. Your "friend" the model should be totally supportive. Sounds wierd that you would list a "friend" going to the same party as a seemingly negative thing. Maybe she's not much of a friend. Be strong and confident. Anyone who can't accept you for you doesn't deserve your company.

Have a friend or family member help you find a flattering dress and some sparkly jewelry. If you have great bustline, show off that cleavage. If your legs are hot get a shorter dress, but not too short.
Saunter in that party on your husband's arm and enjoy yourself. Smile and laugh alot. Nothing shows more confidence than happiness.

It doesn't matter if she's a model , you can look as good as her. Also your husband is not embarassed by you so you shouldn't have an issue. I have a gut since I have two kids and I wear control top underwear . They also sell it as a combination that comes over you stomach and covers your thighs all the way to the top of your knee. Enjoy yourself

ahh yes!!!! Just because you are over weight don't mean you don't look good! I know loads of nice pretty looking larger women. Just because your friend is a model don't mean you shouldn't go either! Dress up, go have fun and act normal like you do with your husband and friend! HAVE A GOOD TIME! Your not the only overweight person in the world! :0)

ABSOLUTELY!!!! Use jewelry, clothes, makeup and a great hairdo to make yourself FEEL better. If she is a friend, she doesn't care what you look like. Do what you can to feel better about yourself and don't worry about what other ppl think. Your hubby loves you for a reason. Be there with him to bond and support him. If you can afford it, get a manicure, pedicure, facial whatever so you feel good. Start exercising and eating better. That will also help you physically AND emotionally. I think you should do at least a 30 minute workout (walk, yoga, life weights, SOMETHING) everyday at least until the party and you will feel much better. It won't show physically but you will feel it inside(:
