I'm desperately trying to hold on to God and I'm even changing my religion cause I think I'm losing him. I am...or I was, a Christian but I started rebelling and losing my faith. I never liked what the Christians did in the past, they changed the Sabbath and the foundation is wrong. But now that I am an adult I want to change and get closer to God but I don't know how. I think Christianity was pure before the Romans filled it with Pagan filth and I do not want to be part of that. I don't know what to do, I'm losing God and I need Him...........................I'm LOST and I need to find God now or I'm going to lose myself.

Many of the things you said are true, yes the Sabbath is still Saturday, yes Christianity was pure before Romans brought pagan beliefs... BUT your problem is not with ALL of Christianity it is only with wrong teachings.

What you want is truth, free from the pagan traditions. Read the Bible and see what it really says that is the best way to find the truth. If you want to know what the Bible teaches free from man made traditions read the Bible.

Before you decide to convert I ask that you take a look at this FREE online video Bible study. It will aid you in search. the video is very informative and I promise it will not be boring

Jesus never said it would be easy to follow Him. There will be times when the Sea is raging and the wind blows but Jesus is always in the boat ready to help.

Okay, just chill.

Switching religions won't help you hold onto God. Your faith is troubled, not your religion.

Islam is just as troubled as Christianity is. Warmongers use the Koran to justify violence? The same thing happened in Christianity, like with the Crusades and the Inquistion, using the Bible to justify the persecution of innocents.

Killing for God? Murder is wrong, no matter what religion you follow.

It sounds like you are on a spiritual journey. Explore new paths and look for the similarities in religion. Discover your own soul and look for your own ideas on spirituality. Heal your soul through prayer and meditation.

It's not as easy as "Oh, the Muslims are the Good guys and Christians are bad" or vice versa. If it were, it would have been solved long, long ago.

When Jesus said, "be not like the pagans", he was talking about a specific behaviour, being overly demonstrative about prayer and using it to appear, well, superior to others. Making it into an ego trip rather than sincere devotion to God.

You have humbled yourself by speaking the truth of your soul, and this makes you closer to God now more than you realize. It is a difficult step, to admit that you don't have all the answers when you feel like you should. Now you have somewhere to start, in a place of honesty, rather than faking your way through life and learning nothing.

Ask the tough questions. Seek the answers and you shall find them. Read the Bible, the Koran, the Torah, any spiritual writings you can get your hands on. Keep an open mind and try not to judge others, but understand them. Talk with religious figures in you community.

Seeking answers is not rebelling against God. It's answering God's call.

One last message: Beware of those who speak more of evil than God. Trouble often comes from it.

Have hope in your heart. I wish you peace and love!

Have a good day!

Well I'll give you my opinion on the problem. Christians aren't anything. Wicca/Pagan was around long before Christianity. and Christians took alot of the pagan beliefs and twisted them around making pagans look bad. So maybe you should do some research on the truth about religions (don't look on christian sites for answers, they won't be true.) And every religion has a god, some have more gods than others, and some have gods and goddesses. There are even some that believe they are their own god. Well, good luck.

Do you really need to find God? Keep searching and maybe one day you're realize that just like you see Pagan filth in Christianity, you'll see filth in Islam, and every other religion you turn to and realize that (gasp) it's all man made! The Pagans made things up, the Christians made things up, the Muslims made things up, and then they all started arguing over the things they all made up so that some of the Christians disagree with some of the other Christians and the Muslims disagree with some of the things the other Muslims made up and for it to be "God's Truth" no one can really quite agree on it.

I'm kind of in the same place you are with religion. I am a Christian, I do believe in Christ and God, however it is hard with all the filthy crap that they have you believe is true. I'm not going to get into the specifics of what I consider to be complete crap and what I consider to be true, but what I am going to tell you is this. No matter what your religion, you have to use it the way you think is appropriate. What I mean is this... I don't believe that I'm going to hell because I use birth control. The catholic religion believes that, but i think it's pure crap. What you need to do, is pick and choose the things that you want to believe. I mean I don't believe using birth control is a sin, so I ignore that. I think if you are generally nice, generous, charitable, and forgiving you can be a good christian. You'll beat yourself over the head over and over again if you try to conform to all of any religion's rules and beliefs. You just have to take what you feel is right and go with that and try to skip over the other crap.

It's okay. I lost god a long time ago. It's scary at first because you think you are going to "hell" or that you've lost part of your identity, but I couldn't be happier now. People can only trick themselves into believing something for so long, until you just can't do it anymore.

PS. - Actually, the christians ruined the pagan faith. The christians tried to convert the pagans by strategically placing christian holidays over pagan ones.

If you don't like it, don't do it. You aren't losing God, but it sounds like He is leading you away from things like Christmas and Easter. We should be in an attitude of thanksgiving for Christ's birth and death at all times of the year, not just on fairly arbitrary days of the year. Christianity is the truth, but humans will never be perfect. That is what we strive for and must understand in the church. "Christianity was pure before the Romans filled it with Pagan filth and I do not want to be part of that." Christ was and is pure, and that is all that matters.

I think you have answered all your own questions, but let's break it down.

1) You admit that you indeed rebelled and "lost your faith". Solution: plain and simple - Christ forgives. Seek him again! He's waiting for you.

2) If you have problems with Christians who have failed your expectations, remember that to be a Christian is not to model after other Christians, but to model after Christ himself. Even as each of us are sinners, we are forgiven completely upon our confession of sin and acceptance of the death and ressurrection of Christ. I suggest diving into the text of your Bible on a daily basis, if not several times a day. What better place to find the heart of God than in His Word? And pray - "pray without ceasing", right? God will hear your prayers.

3) Look for a Greek translation of the Bible, and Hebrew of the Old Testament. It might be helpful for you to see the original context and be able to apply the original meanings. Yes, there is much of the text that has been translated for contemporary meaning in many Bible translations. There is much of the Church that has experienced the same. But one thing never changes - the truth that Christ died and was resurrected to remove our sins and bring us into a personal understanding of His grace and forgiveness.

4) I am a Christian. I have been through the sensation of losing my faith. I understand and greive your loss with you! You can find it again. God has said over and over "I will never leave you, nor forsake you." He is there when you decide to seek him with all your heart.

5)Nobody can fix this for you. Nobody can tell you what you want to hear. Nobody can research for you. This is a crisis of your own faith. Let the results of your own seeking be the confirmation of the relationship you once shared with God through Jesus (and can share again). Come as you are to Him! "For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son that whoever believes in him will not perish, but live eternally." God loves you and wants to be close to you, too.

This sounds like what is called a false conversion. I would like to share the Gospel with you in a way that I'm sure you have never heard before. If it helps you, great. If not, then keep plugging away. Please email me.

I think I understand how you feel. When I was 17 yrs. old (a teenager), I kind of felt the same way. But, do you know what I did? I prayed to God with all my heart. I seek Him trough His Word, the Bible, and you know what? He helped me. He let me know that He's always there, though I didn't feel it. He loves me and He let me know it. He wants to do the same with you. There's a Scripture that where God says that we'll look for Him and we'll find Him, because we'll look for Him with all our heart (I can't find the text though). The Bible teaches that it is not the human that reaches God, but it is God who takes the first step to reach the human beings. It is Jesus who leaves the 99 sheeps secured and goes out to look for the lost one. It is He who looks for you; all you have to do is stop running and let Him find you. Search Him and you'll surely find Him. He's just a prayer away! You'll learn that He's always been there for you. You don't have to move Him to help you, becuase He already loves you and has always been willing to help you!

"In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins." (1 John 4:10; NKJV). And He made this voluntary sacrifice for you and me even before we knew about it! We love Him because He loved us first!

Let's do this. Go to a room or some place where you can be alone. Bow down and pray to your loving Father with an honest and sincere heart. Trust Him. You can tell Him anything you want, whether it is good or bad; just tell Him how you feel and that you don't want to feel that way. Finally, ask Him to help you and to let you know how much He loves you and cares for you. He'll hear you, I promise; He heard me.

"Keep your wants, your joys, your sorrows, your cares, and your fears before God. You cannot burden Him; you cannot weary Him. He who numbers the hairs of your head is not indifferent to the wants of His children. 'The Lord is very pitiful, and of tender mercy.' James 5:11. His heart of love is touched by our sorrows and even by our utterances of them. Take to Him everything that perplexes the mind. Nothing is too great for Him to bear, for He holds up worlds, He rules over all the affairs of the universe. Nothing that in any way concerns our peace is too small for Him to notice. There is no chapter in our experience too dark for Him to read; there is no perplexity too difficult for Him to unravel. No calamity can befall the least of His children, no anxiety harass the soul, no joy cheer, no sincere prayer escape the lips, of which our heavenly Father is unobservant, or in which He takes no immediate interest. 'He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds.' Psalm 147:3. The relations between God and each soul are as distinct and full as though there were not another soul upon the earth to share His watchcare, not another soul for whom He gave His beloved Son." (http://www.whiteestate.org/books/sc/sc11.html).

Jesus loves you, "The Lord appeared to us in the past, saying: ‘I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with loving-kindness." (Jeremiah 31:3; NIV).

No matter what you do, whether is good or bad; you can't stop Him from loving you: "For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord."
