First, -- cannot happen simply from being around pot smokers. If the cat eats it then, yes, they will test positive.
Although I don't know why anyone would want to drug test a cat.

I got high once on 2nd-hand smoke... I was at a bar with my fiance, and a guy across the room had packed the end of his cigarette with something a little less legal... It was my first exposure to marijuana smoke and I got high (blood-shot eyes, dilated pupils, giggly, munchies, etc).
I'm guessing that I would have tested positive, although it was my first (and only) high, there probably would not have been much of a buildup of THC in my system.
So to answer your question about the cat... If someone decided to test the cat (hope they got a warrant), the animal would probably test positive...
Thought- has anyone ever actually tested an animal for drug use?

I'm not sure if they can test positive for drugs, but be careful because I have read that marijuana is toxic to cats.

Yes, of course. I would think that just being in the environment where the weed is being smoked, the cat would absorb enough for it to show in a drug test.
