National Association for the Advancement of Colored People .

It was the group of which Martin Luther King was associated with, established to create unity between all races in America. Interesting fact, that it was actually started by the Jewish community when they recognized all of the racism and atrocities which occurred to the African-American people.. ( at that point of time we were actually called COLORED.. hence the reason for the name). It is also the same organization of which former Supreme Court Justice was affiliated with win he won Brown Vs. THE BOARD OF EDUCATION.. ending segregation in schools

Currently the NAACP is working on another version of Brown vs. The Board of education which would provide equal funding to urban schools ... as well as rural schools in America.

basically it is the African American version of the ACLU. [American Civil Liberties Union]
