Lithium Ion batteries don't suffer from memory effect like Nickel based batteries. Also, Lithium batteries don't suffer from over-charging in the same way Nickel batteries do.

The result is that Lithium batteries are generally more resilient to the vagaries of user charging profiles.

The one big problem which Li Ion batteries suffer from is Deep Discharge, whereby the cell becomes irreversably discharged. The internal electronics in most consumer equipment batteries generally prevents this from happening though.

cheers.

Overcharging batteries of any type is bad for them as it reduces their life, it causes a loss of ability to hold charge.

These batts do not develope a memory so leaving them on charge does no harm. They will not overcharge as your device will shut down as they reach capacity

NO!!! overheating is a major threat. the same goes for mobile chargers for cars. they basically charge ur mobile phone quickly. this leads to slight overheating of the phone everytime u charge it and significantly leads to the reduction of battery life.

No, I think that they have to discharged and recharged regularly to keep them operating at peak performance.
