Without a doubt. It helps skin age very fast compared to non-smokers; almost half the times. Too much smoking can also give you odor of cigarettes like my friend who put lots of cologne but the cologne's smell turns into something pungeant... It also dries up and darkens your lips, as well as your gums; and makes your teeth yellow too. It also enlarges pores. One beauty editor of a magazine I have had made an interview with told me that once, during a studio photoshoot, makeup artists had a hard time applying makeup on her face 'cause no matter how much they put on, it keeps on sliding off and doesn't penetrate well into the skin anymore. Her skin's also kinda like grayish. Some people defensively say that they won't stop 'cause nothing's happening to them yet like what the "rumors" says; but a lot of people who smokes that bad will surely experience those signs whether they like it or not. Some people I knew once died because of simple smoking turned chain smoking. Smoking can also decrease the normal function of your nervous system making you more tired during workouts or playing sports, or whatever.. There was once in a tv show where they showed the audience and compared 2 lungs: one was clean (smoke-free), and the other one was of a chain smoker's. The lungs of the chain smoker (who died of smoking), were freakingly horrible. It was very black with shades of blue with so many holes as if they were burnt and crumpled, and shrank... really disgusting... lol, so it really isn't just the skin... because all the damages starts inside first, then it appears on your skin.

YES!!!!
Fro tyhe most part you don't see any effects right away. But what it does is the cigs reduce your intake of oxygen. It also increases the productoin of those nasty free radicals. And smoking causes you to pucking repeatedly.
What this all means is that you will be less healthy, optimum health is needed for the optimumlook of health to your skin! Nicotine is a poison mostly used as an insecticide. Your body will be constantly fighting to eliminate the toxins from the cigs. One of the places your body eliminates toxins is through the pores of your skin. Therefore your pores will be larger your skin will look more coarse.
That's not all. Your skin will be less supple due to the reduced oxygen. More likely to scar. Ever have weight fluctuatoins? Well if you smoke your skin will be less elastic and you will be more prone to stretch marks!
Finally the puckering to drag on the cig day after day, month after month, year after year! YOU WILL get lots an lots of lines around mouth!!
Problem is most of these changes take place slowly over years. You don't really notice them till it is far too late!
Know someone who has smoked for years and does not have any of these problems? Think again. This perosn would have looked lots better if they had never smoked!!!
BUt I am assuming you were thinking more long th elines of acne. And yes, smoking does irritate acne for all the reasons above. If you have any hope of clear skin you have to keep your skin as clean as possible from with out and from with in.

Actually, yes. The smoke gets in the surface pores and discolors it. On the inside, smoking adversely effects the microcirculation that feeds the skin making it age faster. Taken altogether, over time the skin becomes duller and has more wrinkles than a non-smoker's skin.

Not only does it cause wrinkling, but the toxins in the smoke will lead to clogged pores and cause pimples in sensitive or acne prone skin.
I smoked for 10 years. I quit smoking over a month ago. My skin has been zit free since I quit and hasn't looked this clear and healthy in years. I am quite amazed and very happy with the difference and improvement.

Yes! It blocks oxygen from getting into your pores and your skin begins to wrinkle sooner. You get a tired, worn complexion. Also, smoking can create lines around your lips from puffing the cigarette.

Cigarettes have no medicinal value at all !!!
The smoke that is produced while smoking damages the skin cells, teeth, hair / hair follicles, and finger nails.
Not to mentions the tons of damage it causes to the internal organs.
All I can say is DON'T SMOKE!!!! EVER!!!!

My sister is 4 years younger than me and she wrinkles around her eyes and mouth from smoking. She's 31 now but I noticed her wrinkles when she was 27. I'm a non smoker and have no wrinkles. Just a few small lines.

Yes it is. It makes your skin yellow and dry. I know some people who smoke and their skin is bad, if you smoke than you should quit, your skin will eventually get better.
