Now, I don't know why, but I remembered seeing this sign, or commercial or something.
I have never done this before, and probably never will...
But here's the question part... How, exactly does one go about asking for a free meal? Have you ever done it? Can you get it to go? Who offers free meals on your birthday?
I am just curious...

all you have to do is mention to the waiter/waitress that it's your birthday... Iguana Mia here does it... I'm sure lots of places do... I've never done it... but i may on my next birthday... if I'm in the mood for Mexican food... I'm sure you have to eat it there... but if you sit down for a bit and then take a to go box they wouldn't be able to say anything... good/luck next time around...

You have to eat it there! Next time, call the restaurant, and ask if you can dine alone or if you need to bring someone with you who will be paying for a meal. Some places only give a free meal if another meal is purchased at equal or more than the free meal costs. Also some restaurants only have certain meals that are free.

And when you go, just tell the waitress it's your birthday, and ask what is the free meal!

A local Mexican restaurant (Iguana Mia) in my city does this and all you have to do is show them your drivers license & they give you a complete free meal (excluding drinks). We've gone twice on our birthdays and other times too.

Mother Tuckers, gives free meals if you can provide proof of your birthdate. Great Restaurant. I know they have them in Canada, unsure of the States.
