Every day care center that I've talked to seem to have the same hours: 6am - 6pm. Other than in-home care (babysitters) are there any major providers that offer extended hours? Is there such a thing as 24 hour day care?

If you know of a place, a company name would be helpful (LaPetite Acadamy, etc.). Again, I am looking for an option other than one-on-one, in-home care.

There are some licensed daycare centers that offer 2nd shift hours, but they are few and far between and often in less than desirable neighborhoods and conditions. The only one that is in my area is on verge of being shut down by DHS for not being up to code on many things.

To find a list of daycares in your area check your yellow pages then do some calling around to see if they offer 2nd shift or know of any that do, and once you find one call DHS and do a thorough check on them.

I would strongly encourage you to be open to the consideration of in-home childcare. I am a former lead infant/toddler teacher at several different daycares and worked for the local school district also, I have seen what goes on behind closed doors at daycare centers. Almost all daycare providers are severely under paid and you get what you pay for, so the quality out there is just plain not good enough. This is why I opened my own in-home daycare so that I could provide loving individualized care for children as well as stay home with my own two kids. I really would never put my kids in a daycare center ever again. Good luck to you and I hope you find something that works for you!

They do exist, but they are usually few and far between and more expensive than regular day cares. I'm afraid you will have to call the places in your area to find out for sure and ask the director if they know of any facilities that are 24 hour. I know this may not be an option for you, but if you can, think about changing your work schedule, it will make things a lot easier on you and your budget.

Check the newspaper. Also the "council of churches" in your area should have a childcare referral service. Some hospitals have daycare for their staff and the community to use. Try checking with businesses that have late shirts and see what their staff does. Do you work with anyone that has a spouse who might be willing to help you out?

Good luck. Finding the right childcare can be frustrating.

that's humorous, our close by daycare, i found out, is each so often no longer even open for the duration of those situations! pass parent. finally around holidays and such, whilst college isn't in consultation, they positioned up notes asserting there are not adequate little ones signed as much as wait and for them to be open on those days! fortuitously, the single time that befell, my mom had the time off too and replaced into able to observe my daughter. We in my view have a widely used sitter who watches my daughter. She lives up the line from the place I artwork, so it incredibly is totally handy. and she or he has college age little ones so i comprehend she's abode to guard her very own little ones whilst they're out of school. The daycare we use purely on an as-mandatory foundation whilst the sitter isn't available for regardless of reason. Childcare is expensive, yet by using getting a chum or neighbor babysit, it incredibly is plenty greater decrease priced than a registered facility. I purely pay $20 an afternoon for a sitter, as adversarial to $34 an afternoon for the daycare. My daughter is 3 yrs.

If you work for a company that hires a lot of people, then you might be able to convince them to make a daycare center. I had some friends who worked 3rd shift for Ford and they had a 24-hour daycare center. Talk to someone in your hr department.

Yes, Im in an area with lots of hospitals, with workers around the clock of course, and we have a number of them, both centers and in home. Maybe check with your county licensing too, they might have some type of listing. Just doing a google search "on 24hour day care gave me a few centers" You could always try your companies HR too, or espeically word of mouth if you have co-workers in the same situation.

There are 24 hour daycare services. you just need to check for any in your area. Personally as a parent I would be a little skeptical having someone watch my child late at night, but I'm sure these 24 hour services are reputable.

What about asking friend's if they know of any college student's who would like to have a place to live, you could give them room in place of them being around at night for you, there are many ways to work out a plan with someone who is looking for a place to live, ask your friend's if they have any relatives they could recommend, their are many who still work out an arrangement like the old school girls who lived in.
