The back of my throat is red and my tonsil are swollen i can fell them when i breath in through my mouth. should i see the Dr.?i am concern cause i never had like this before and i can see new on my other side.

if you have white patches on your tonsils you have strep throat and then you need to go to the dr for pennicylin, if theyre just red you probably have a sore throat just gargle with warm salt water to kill the bacteria and drink hot liquids in the mean time it soothes it

i agree with the white patches- i've had strep about 20 times as a child, so i totally sympathize with you. You will also develop a fever with it. if you don't have a fever, try a salt water gargle several times a day with sea salt- just a tiny spoonful dissolved in a glass of warm water. If it improves, it's probably not strep, but i say go to the doc anyway- untreated strep can affect your heart valve function, so please go okay! feel better

You have strep throat. You need an antibiotic from the penicillin group, such as Amoxil. Continue the antibiotic for ten days to prevent rheumatic fever.
