Try not to be around her would be one answer. Sounds like big trouble to me. She's a silly little girl and obviously too young for marriage. How sad for your son. Anyway, like I said the least time spent in her company the better but please make sure you mention this to your wife because it could blow up in your face.

Ask your wife what she thinks you should do, your wife knows women better .. maybe she has some answers.

1. Do NOT flirt back... it just encourages it.
2. Run away and avoid her most of the time.
3. Ignore her when she is around, don't look at her often etc.
4. Flirt with your wife in front of her and say things like noone on earth is better looking than you my wife not even your daughter in law!
5. Talk about boring things when she is around :)..
6. Try putting stinky fertiliser in the garden the day she comes over and then garden when she arrives.. LOL..
7. Wear a realy offensive aftershave.. something stinky.. or if there is NO other answer.. go for a jog the morning she comes over.. and then don't shower... :) LOL..
8. Buy a hilarius gardening hat and only wear it when she is around.. the floppy old man ones.

She will get the hint eventually.

Take her to one-side and tell her point-blank your are not interested. There is nothing else to say or do, just that. Remember you have a son to consider, probably a wife and rest of the family as well. Naturally you will be flattered , all men are like that, but it is totally up to you , put a stop to it and forget the flattery. You obviously have a house, some money etc else she would not be interested in you. Remember it is also a power thing, madam wants to see how quickly she can ruin marraiges. It is up to you, please don't give her any more attention than hello and goodbye. You are the one who is going to end up alone and lonely, a sad old man.

What are terrible position this Woman has put you in... If I was you I would not get into a situation where you are alone with her . I would also go as far as starting to gather evidence such as CCTV to try and catch her on tape propositioning you.. Your Son & your Wife will not believe you ..and take her side..once you have evidence bring it up with your Wife - who will then deal with it for you.. My Mother-in-Law flirts non stop with me - I had to tell my Wife and one day when we were at her Mums house - We made a plan that she would pretend to go to the shops ..but she would really hide in the cupboard.. Sure enough as soon as her Mum thought my Wife was out of sight she started ...her usual antics.. Dont get me wrong ..yes it is kind of flattering - but...it is a definite no go zone...you will only live to regret it..

There is a big difference between flirting and trying to seduce / make a pass.

What are you trying to 'get out of' - do you mean stop her? Sounds like it is messing with your head. Has anyone esle noticed? You can always walk away, or just bore her to death talking about your wife and son. She'll get the message. Otherwise (if you are secure enough) enjoy the flattery and DO NOTHING.

Has anyone else mentioned her actions, is this happening when no one else is around? It makes a difference when where and to what extent this flirting is going on. If I saw someone flirting way too inappropriately with my husband I'd talk to him first, if your wife/partner isn't saying anything it may be more harmless flirting than anything. If she's just approaching at secluded times I'd say it's time to set boundaries and excuse yourself from her presence.

Get her alone and tell her, "Your inappropriate behavior is disrespectful to my son, to my wife, and to me. There are going to have to be some changes in your conduct. I expect you to treat this family with respect, and conduct yourself like a lady."

DO NOT SAY, "I am flattered." !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And don't BE flattered; its not a compliment to you; its only a reflection of her narcissism. Girls like that will flirt with anything in pants, believe me. If you do not put a stop to it, YOU are BETRAYING both your son and your wife.

EDITED TO ADD: I just asked my boyfriend what he would do if he were in your shoes. (He is a very successful businessman.) He said he would go directly to his son and DEMAND THAT HE DIVORCE HER, bec she is a **** and cannot be trusted!!!! It is a very ugly situation; that woman is no good. I feel very sorry for your son.

Be straight forward. Let her know that you do not want her to feel embarrassed but you feel she crosses a line that could hurt feelings within the family and since you think the world of her you don't want to see this happen. Good Luck! :)

Maybe she isn't flirting with you at all and you are only wishful thinking....

Regardless, be an adult and tell her that you don't appreciate it and ask her to stop. I'm not sure why everyone feels the need to tread so lightly on others feelings. She is an adult, treat her like one.

It depends what you mean by flirting. Some people are just flirty and it is just how they know how to get on with people. Just smile politely and change the subject. Don't worry about hurting her feelings- what does she expect you to do, she's married to your son!
