You say you had a nice Time going out for your birthday. The key here is that "Time", is the greatest gift you can be given. As long as you are enjoying the "Time" spent together, don't sweat the small stuff...

Yes, may be you could call it that, but.....may be he is the type who just doesn't buy gifts. sure it makes him unromantic, but that's the kind of person he is. so it gives you a heads up on if you want to go through life with no gifts.

just me, i would expect a gift,,,, even a small one, as it represents the thought put into it,,,,,, i would tell him that holidays are important to you, and you will be getting him a small gift, then let him decide what he wants to do,,,,yes, it is unromantic! just tell him its not ok with you,,,, your relationship should represent both of you,,,, and since holidays/gift giving only happens a few times a year,,,, do it your way for that,,, then let him choose something else for his way,,,,,

Well, I still think that you should get him a present. Guys these days like MP3 players, Ipods, and CDs. You could get tickets to his favorite band.
You guys should still do something special. You know his interests. Just find out what he likes and build on that.

It's not the best way, because you are feminizing him. Stop the gift giving. Just love him with your heart. In our society a man supports the household. Let him be a man.

no,maybe its just that for him youre too perfect and all he wanted to give you is himself, his whole life and maybe that was what his trying to let you know,to appreciate him for who he is even without the essence of any gifts,
