Go into the Control Panel
Click on the Add or Remove Programs icon
Find IE7 in the listing of programs and select it
A Remove button will appear
Click the Remove button
Once it is done uninstalling IE7, reboot the PC and the old version will return
(This is better than a System Restore as you will not lose any of the other changes you have made since IE7 was installed)

Go to the control panel, Add / Remove Programs, is IE7 is there you can remove it otherwise go to add / remove windows components on the left and untick Internet explorer, restart and then go back to windows components box and tick it again and youshould be back to IE6.
IE7 is a better browser, slightly more secure but for you why don't you get Firefox, get the Ipod plugins and let your Dad suffer the consequences of running a bad Internet browser.

PS. If you click the "Show Updates" box at the top of Add and Remove Programs, IE7 may well be there so you can uninstall that update, or you could use System Restore to revert back to the time before IE7 was installed. I would back up you system however, just in case.
IE7 is now the official MS browser so if you can show your Dad this:

So persuading him to Keep IE7 would be the better option, but you go ahead and get Firefox.

I'd say first off show you're question to your Dad, just so that he can see that having helped cause a problem, you're taking responsibility for fixing it.
Dad - if you're an IE user, sooner or later Microsoft are going to insist that you upgrade to IE7. If you've calmed down a bit (and as a father I know I'd be incensed if one of my kids had "messed" with my precious PC setup) then either:
- accept that IE7 is coming - you just got there a little earlier than you'd like; or
- google for the uninstallation; or
- seeing as you have to learn a new browser, take this opportunity to switch to a better one, e.g. Avant.

Just uninstall it in control panel, under "add and remove". look for "windows Internet Explorer 7". After uninstallation and reboot, the system will revert back to the previous copy running on your system.

With as many IE7 system faults as i have heard about, extremely frankly IE6 is a more desirable good browser. :-P yet, dropping the editorializing and attending for your question ... in case you uninstall IE7 (administration Panel - upload/get rid of courses), your pc will roll itself back to IE6. And sure, you'll nonetheless be able to get on line. yet another threat is to receive the present loose version of Firefox. yet because it feels like IE7 has tousled your connection, you want to get that fixed first. nonetheless yet another threat: do a equipment restoration to some extent before you downloaded the present round of updates. that would want to get IE7 operating back. Then, at the same time as living house windows once back provides you with the updates, use the custom mode and decline the replace for IE7. desire that helps. reliable success!
