Construction companies are here today and gone tomorrow. 30 years ago I had trouble finding work even with a college degree. I had to go back and get more schooling. My specialty at that time did not require college. Today the same specialty is almost inaccessable unless you have college. That's how many people are trying to get in. Same for my wife. She had a B.A. degree to get a DFCS job. Now you can't get in unless you have a Master's degree. What does this say? Competition for good jobs is tough. You need more education, not less. One day these people you know will find themselves in a very sorry position and they will blame everybody but themselves. Stay in school and don't get caught up in the maddness of crowds. These people may be trying to suck you in because misery loves company.

Dropping out of high school is plain dumb. Construction jobs are good, but just remember this:
1. Without daddy dear these kids would be working for pennies and maybe even living in the streets.
2. Construction jobs involve lots of physical labor and if you don't work up to the ranks and get into a non-physical job then you can be sure that you are NOT going to be working that job your whole life. What then?
A high school diploma is only a start. Go onto college or if college is not your thing then go to a vocational or technical school and find a trade that will allow you to make some good money all the while being able to still have a life.
Think real hard about dropping out. If your friends all decided to do something that you KNEW would kill them would you do it? This is almost the same.....just because they are doing it doesn't mean that it's the right thing for you to do.....
Good luck!

Dropping out of school is stupid. Construction is a simpleton job with simpleton pay. Without their fathers they will run them in the ground. To get a decent job in the world. You need at least a bachelor's degree. An associates degree is considered adequate for non specialized jobs, a high school diploma says you aren't a quiter, a GED says you don't want to feel stupid, no GED says **** whats the worst that could happen?
No one is set for life. Every thing can be taken away. Especially if you aren't smart enough to keep it or see that its slipping away.
I used to cut and deliver firewood. After college, I realized I could have made twenty times what I was selling it for by doing a few small pricing changes. I now run a delivery service deliverying furniture, pool tables, and hot tubs in Springfield, MO. I clear about 80 k a year now. Before college, I couldn't get a job paid higher than eight dollars an hour.
You drop out and you'll end up living in a trailer house and paying child support more than likely.

They may have a job now, but they won't rise very high in the ranks without a proper education. Experience will only get you so far in life, good papers bring up the slack. Your friends are gonna be pissed that in 20 years, they'll still be middle management and some young hotshot with a bachelor's degree will be their boss. A high school diploma / GED is minimal for any sort of leadership position. AA or BA is better.

No definitly not ! I dropped out of high school when i was 17 and lucked out by getting a job in which I made more than alot of people with college degrees . It was great I was young making good money and I thought not having a highschool diploma wasnt hurting me . Well about 2 yrs ago I suffered a back injury at work this injury makes it imposible for me to do the manual labor I was doing and with no education its tough to find a job making enough money to life on ,. Dont ever think of selling your self short by not competing high school though things look good for your friends now things change and you will be in a better spot in you stay in school..

No It is always good to have your GED. What if tomorrow your friends company gets sued, and the person that is suing takes everything. Your friend will then, have to get another job working for someone else. That is not the only thing that could happen. Stay in school and get that GED you have worked so many years for it and if you quit now practically all those years will have been for nothing.

I dropped out of highschool for 2 reasons ... i became BORED stupid (i became way too smart) and that i had a dysfunctional relatives and that i ran far flung from homestead. Please enable me inform you that i'm no longer 'uneducated' ... i've got not got a intense college degree or a GED, yet I somewhat have a Bachelor's of technology, a grasp's of technology and a PhD in Psychology. I went to college in a state the place everybody would desire to flow to a state college in the event that they have been over 21 whilst they utilized ... childrens drop out of highschool for many different reasons ... some are into gangs and doing medications, some are bored, some get pregnant or would desire to marry and help a pregnant female, others do exactly no longer care, some have dysfunctional families and would desire to run away to stay to tell the story ...

degree holders have better job opportunities than highschool graduates....so if you're a highschool dropout, chances of you getting employ by major companies are less than 50%. even if they do employ you, you'll only be hired as a clerk...unless you want to be a clerk for the rest of your life, don't drop out of school.
recently, studies have shown that degree holders are being paid more than highschool grads even though they work for a shorter number of hrs. a higher salary would meant better standards of living for you and your family as you could afford more things like a car, travel to other countries for holidays..etc
besides, there's no harm in studying for a few more years.you'll be knowledgeable.
never drop out of high school....if you do, you'll regret in the future.
