i want to put my cars subwoofer in my room and use it without the car amplifier. i want to wire it up 2 maybe my radio or dvd player or whatever possible.

You have to use two wired in series as most subs are 4 ohm where a home stereo uses an 8 ohm load. The total watts RMS of both subs must equal the watts RMS of the home stereo as well.

If by chance the sub is a DVC (dual voice coil) 4 ohm, you can wire the coils in series, the watts rule still applies.

what he said. you need a home amp, and most run at 8 ohms. your sub has to be a DVC and you have to wire it up as 8 ohms.

i have a infinity Kappa Perfect dvc in my room, and it sounds great.
