I wolud like to make a plastic torispherical dome (about radius 40cm) for my project. As I need only 1 dome so I plan to do plastic molding but I don't know where to start? Can anybody tell me how to make it or other alternatives to produce it?? thx!!!

Go to a toy store and buy a plastic ball. Cut the ball in half.

Heat the 1/2-ball over gentle heat until it is pliable, then take two opposite sides of the "opening" and bring them together a bit, as if you were going to try to roll the ball into a cylinder.

The shape you wind up with is approximately a torispheroid. Cut the bottom back to flat - and you've got it.

If you can find a toy plastic American-style football; it gets even easier. Just cut the toy ball in half down the long axis. You will have your torispheroid.
