it can be a genetic problem of a heredity problem and sometimes people just cannot control obesity.

Diets are a joke, about a third of the nation is on a diet.
Do they work.....the failure rate is very high.
I wonder who's making a ton of cash out of this...??
To succeed at long term lifestyle change you need to first of all get your head straight. If you've programmed your own sub-conscious mind over the years to always give up and accept defeat it's a pattern you will repeat time and time again. It doesn't matter what you do or if you have the strongest will in the world, your sub-conscious mind will always control your conscious mind and hence influence your decisions and actions..
It is not something you are born with and the theory about being weak willed is nonsense.
I suspect you think I'm a nut.
OK if I am, why do pro boxers, pro football players, pro athletes, top CEO's, all have motivational coaches.
Because this stuff does work. It seems ridiculous when you first read about it. You will probably feel stupid completing the exercises. Look up some books on self-image at amazon or thumb through a few in the bookstore

I think its all about drive and motivation. Everytime you get on the scales and youve stayed the same or put on you will lack motivation, feel disheartened and think thats there is no point in carrying on. My advice is to throw away the scales and try again but if you have a bad day, get up the next and start a fresh. You will notice the weight loss through monitiring your clothes and how they fit and wont get put off by the big bad scales! It seems to do the trick for me!
P.s. Someone answered you by saying its cause your greedy, thats a horrid thing to say and just plain nasty so ignore it!
Also confidence is another thing that will help you feel better, if you start liking yourself as you are, theres not as much pressure on your brain for weight loss and Im sure this is another factor what will help you succeed!
Merry Christmas and sod the dieting over this next few weeks....just eat, drink and get a new party frock!!!!! Thats what Im doing anyway....lol xxx

What do you mean by "do well" at the diet?
If you mean you lose 15lbs in the first month, it's not surprising you're having problems. That's a classic "Crash and Bloat".
Losing weight is simply making a habit of being sensibly disciplined with regard to:
Eating less.
Excercising more.
Know your limits and stay within them, otherwise you end up on the old crash and bloat cycle.
Week by week, gradually reduce the amount of food you eat. If you suddenly go from 3 big meals a day to one stick of celery a week, you'll end up feeling starving and not stay with it. Give your body time to adapt. You'll get used to eating less if you do it g-r-a-d-u-a-l-l-y.
Similaraly, gradually increase the amount of exercise you do. Again, your body will adapt. Your physical fitness will improve and you'll be able to do more.
Don't expect to reach your weight loss goal in a month. It's not realistic and its not healthy. Aim for a weight loss of 5% per month, but don't obsess about this figure. Focus more on fitness and health.
Good luck.

Wanna lose weight then Join slimming world!!
I've lost 3stone 1 1/2lbs since January of 2006 and i was pregnant!!!! I gave birth in August and still go to group!
YOu don't have to give up foods you love! there are no points or calories to count!
Also you can eat tons and i do mean tons!!
For example a green day for me, is:
Breakfast - 2 x weektabix a bananna and milk
snack either a slimming world ceral bar or a riveta bar, or packet of snack a jacks (something along those lines) i then eat about 3 -4 satsumas, and a couple of bits of fruit or veg.
Lunch, either a huge jacket potato with baked beans and 28g cheese or some cous cous (ainsley hariot stuff).
I will then snack all afternoon on fruit or veg or rice pasta or cous cous. Tea time i will have spag bol, (made myself) with a small amount (because you count your meat on a green day) of lean mince with homemade sauce and unlitimted amounts of pasta or spag.
I will then have a couple of muller yougarts, and some more fruit. or a frozen yog. Then i will have a mini mars bar or some other choccy!
I could go on here for ages!! Basically for an orginal day which is the other choice, you eat unlimited amounts of meat, but you weigh out your carbs.
So for green day, unlimited healthy carbs, and weigh the meat!
Honestly i've never eaten so much food in my life!
But its true to lose weigh and to get your metabolic rate to increase which speeds up the weight loss you really need to eat often. when you starve your body thinks its not going to fed again and hangs on to the fat.
YOU would get fantastic results more so by doing exersise too, but i've got plastic knees and hips so it wasn't easy for me.
I have set an online forum for all whom are intrested, or already attend slimming world. i only set it up this week, so its very new! But we are lovely lot at our group and i would urge any one to do this! I've attached my forum add and the slimming world website!
Good luck.
Rember only YOU can be what YOU want to be!

I am, by no means, a weight loss expert. I think though that if I was to give advice I would say to make it a competition with friends, or co-workers.
A nurse once told me that the girls on her floor put $2.00 each in a pool every week, whoever lost the most weight in that month got the loot.
They make it fun, and they helped each other. They walked together at lunch time.
They ate together, that way no one 'cheated' and ate Big Mac's.
When someone had a low time that they didn't know if they were going to be able to do it, they got them through it.
This nurse told me she got herself an elliptical machine and that she had lost 12 lbs in a month.
Looking better, and feeling better is quite an incentive, but the money is even better. You could treat yourself to something nice with it, like getting your nails done,a massage, new shoes!!!!
good luck, I hope that maybe it will help with the wil-power thing. No one keeps me in line better than them 'watching over' me.

When I lost weight I stuck up pictures of people who I wanted to look like. Everytime I wanted to go in the cupboard I would look at them and think how nice it would be to look like that. I didn't even buy the bad food in the first place because it would be too tempting for me knowing it's there. If you can't resist sweet things, buy pink and white wafer, they have hardly any calories oor fat. Use fry light spray to to fry your meat, only 1 cal a spray. Or eat sugar free jelly. If the gym bores you too, buy a dance workout dvd. I had a hip hop one, it's much more fun and not quite as painful! = ) Weightwatchers is also good, I lost a stone in 2 months I think it was. It doesn't cut out every single food that you enjoy. Go once to get the book and never go back because the meetings are expensive.

Will power is something u develop based on truth.
Focus on why u want to lose weight(also the advantages and disadvantages of it) . Loosing weight is the plan of action, What is the goal that u wish to achieve by losing weight? Is it to look good, to be healthier, to get more self confidence? What is ur goal?
and now focus on how badly u want to achieve the goal?
Now write both of it in a paper and think before u consider eating any extra or junk food. Think what u want to achieve. Is this action complying with my goal?
Also make a good, practical, detailed plan on how u would lose weight. What would u do? Eat healthy and exercise regularly, perhaps? Get into details and plan it out. How much of calories/day and how much of exercise? Plain in detail and follow it religiously. Maintain a diary to note down ur plan and progress each day,
Believe in urself and work hard.
All it takes is being realistic and working hard while facing facts.
Good luck!

Forget the diet, try an (healthy) obsession first. I found that enjoying my life was far more important to general well being, and when I found something to occupy my mind, the diet and fitness were easy. Ok, so my obsession was a 1920's agricultural traction engine, but I gave up smoking, put on weight, and untill I sorted out my life, it was not going away.
Sort out the mind first, then apply the brakes to the bad lifestyle.

Just eat sensibly - everything in moderation. Do not skip meals. If your body senses that you are skipping meals or eating less than you should it will store food as fat. If it expects food on a regular basis it will not. Its better to eat 5 times a day at regular intervals than skipping meals or dieting. Keep up the excercise and you will see the benefits in 6 weeks and that when you will get the buzz and will not be able to leave your new regime alone
