Circumcision can save over two million in the next 15 years. This is very serious and should not be taken as a joke.
All these studies have been carried out by prestigious and respectable research institutions and universities, and are back in many cases by official organisations such as the US National Institutions of Health or the World Health Organisation.
Why uncircumcised men are more prone to STD’s?
Scientist have discovered that the skin covering the inner side of the foreskin is by its nature (has a very low amount of a protein called ‘keratin’ which stops viruses entering into the body, plus some other factors) acts as an ‘open door’ to STD’s. Circumcision, by removing the foreskin, ‘closes’ this ‘door’.
Circumcision rates are increasing nowadays, both in the United States and overseas. Many African and South American countries with little circumcision tradition are starting to promote the procedure to help to reduce the AIDS-HIV infection rates.
The sites below have very interesting information related to this topic. Please have a look.

I think circumcision was done in part in ancient times because it was seen as cleaner and more hygenic (especially in desert places where access to water was limited). I do not agree with the belief that god decided to make sure the jews had less disease (because many other societies have practised circumcision but have no link with judaism whatsoever - see some of the aboriginal tribes).
However there is also a theory that in many cultures, male and female circumcision is practised not necessarily for hygenic reasons but because of the blood spilt, which forms a blood sacrifice for god (maybe also symbolism that future children brought forth would be dedicated to god, or just the fact that it's a nasty area to cut, showing religious devotion. can be a million possible reasons other than as a hygeine issue). This would make more sense to me, although of course these reasons are not incompatible.

Do you really believe that God passed down this idea that all boy children be circumsized? The fact is that it makes sense in some ways, especially if a group of people doesn't practice proper personal hygeine, which is the reason Jewish leaders wrote it into the law, because it is healthier if you don't practice proper hygeine, makes things easier to clean, and eliminates area for dirt etc to gather. And yes their is some evidence in studies that circumsized men have a lesser chance of catching Aids, regardless of some of the answers you're going to get here. In fact there are studies that show circumsized men having a lesser chance of catching many STD's It's just a fact of bodily fluid transfers and that without the foreskin there isn't a place for this stuff to hide for some period of time, but instead it's immediately exposed to the air which is detrimental to many of these viruses. Next time it might help to learn the reasoning behind these study results, rather than running off with it half cocked trumpeting that this proves God's word. Circumsision is a part of the law because of men who after discovering this idea found it to be cleaner, and found that it solved some problems associated with the foreskin,of course if they had just cleaned themselves better they wouldn't have had to do it at all.

That's a very interesting idea actually...
He knew the state the world would be in by now - maybe as His chosen people, that is His way of showing his mercy.

No. 50% may be inflated results on a difficult to test research experiment.
This is God-free. If you think God created AIDS to kill off naughty people, then you eed to get out of the 80s and your insular world and realise that mutations occur through evolution.

I think it's a good study they did. However, I don't think AIDS was sent like a lesson from God. I just hope when younge guys hear this they don't think they are immune to AIDS. God created man and man created the condom.

Sure. God planned that people chop baby boy's penis foreskin 5,000+ years in advance before the HIV would even exist. Bullet proof theory.
