Very often, my cat will stand on my nightstand in the corner of my room and meow (more like howling and whining) like crazy. She stares up at the ceiling and there is nothing there...trust me. I start playing with her after this because I assume maybe she is bored, and then she is fine. Is my cat bored, or could it be something else?

Probably it does to get some attention.. usually pets need some delicate care and when they are ignored they do something different like in your case, ur cat acting wierd...

I seriously doubt it's a tumor. She's probably bored and wants to be played with, remember cats need exercise just like humans do. A simple string dangled in front of their nose, or wadded up ball of paper flicked across the room can work wonders. My cats go nuts over the red dot created by a laser pointer and will chase it until they're exhausted.

Bored and superior in the way only cats can be LOL
Get toys, or hang something from a doorknob she can play with.

I think your cat senses something up there. Is there a second floor in your building? Maybe there's something in the roof? Or it could be... spirits. In my home country, there is an lod superstition that cats are able to see or sense spirits... maybe your cat is talking to your guardian angel - you know, defending your recent boo boos.

Cats are pets as well as hunbters. They do need attention. So hold your cat and pet it. I have four cats and they play with each other but also love the attention they get from my wife and I.
