Yes, one of the best ways to do that is to eat many small meals instead of large voracious ones. Between meals have an apple or a couple of granola bars or a health shake. These things will quell you hunger pangs and when meal time arrives leave you less empty and thus assisting in you taking smaller portions. Just make sure these snacks are healthy snacks and do not involve sodas and sugar products.

Yes, we can stop doing things at will. Simply, replace each habit, try not to pick a worse habit to do it with. Remember, it's all about starting over. I was at the peak, there are different things to do when you're on top. I rolled down so fast at the other side, I almost but I haven't yet hit rock bottom, not yet. I was lucky, somebody up there likes me and sent a few angels to help catch me. Crazy, I know, seems as though I am resisting and it feels worse by the minute but they won't give up on me, as I would have it. Two years ago I was 50 pounds heavier. Anyone can loose weight. Now I've gone and lost my mind, I have to find a way to deal with it, I have to, I'm still alive.
God bless us all...

Yes, but it takes a lot of will power. Some things that have helped me have been:
1. Taking smaller portions and not getting seconds
2. Eating a snack (like an orange) an hour before a meal
3. Eating slowly
4. Drinking fluids throughout the day
5. Deciding how much you will eat before you start.
Good luck!

I have struggled with my weight my entire life. Lately, I have realized that I not only over eat-but I binge.... and I'm starting to scare myself with it. I think it's possible to stop by cutting back, or some reach out to Overeaters Anonymous for some help.

Obsessing about physical apperance and what everyone else thinks about you is also unhealthy, and more people try to lose weight for that reason than any other as far as I can tell.

I only stop overeating when I'm saving room for desert. I'm not just an overeater, I'm an uber-eater.

teach yourself a new way of eating, instead of malty tasking when you are eating, spend time to concentrate on what you are eating, what it feels like in your mouth & when you chew it. always make shore u realy chew your food properly
