Job and his family live nearest the type of life we have today.
Job was a very Godly man. He trusted God all the way Thur any trial that came up anytime in life.
Satan wanted to destroy Job life and his family. He tried to break him down. But didn't,
Job lost everything in life. But, at the end God bless Job seven times more for be faithful.
Job is a great example how God protect us from the devil.
Always meets our needs in life.
The devil could not touch Job Soul. It belong to God. Neither can the devil touch any Christian Soul. He can attack our flesh but, Not our souls.
Once we are saved, our soul belongs to God, and no one or anything can touch our souls.
Stay strong in the faith, God will always be with us.

one of the great things about Job, is, that is not linked to any specific time in history. There is no reference to any other Biblical Jews such as Abraham, Moses, etc..
One neat thought I have read in the past is that some historians believe that Job showed the Egyptians how to build the pyramids. It was a very interesting article.

Here is something to spark the conversation:
Job 1:21 And said, Naked came I out of my mother's womb, and naked shall I return thither: the LORD gave, and the LORD hath taken away; blessed be the name of the LORD.
The Bible account of Job's statment is true but id Job's statement true or a misperception of the Lord?

I only read the first few chapters so I'll tell you how I understand it.
Job was a faithful God fearing man. Because of his faith he was blessed, family, animals, farm and so forth.
The Devil asked God if He thinks Job will be faithful if the Devil took away everything that God blessed Job with. Because God was so sure of his servant Job that Job will never loose his faith in God, he told him he can go ahead and test him on one condition that the Devil doesn't kill Job.
Job lost everything, all his blessings. He was left homeless, with no family (children and wife died), animals, harvest, everything. The friends that Job has told him that he was stupid for still haveing faith in God, that God doesn't care about him, that he should stop worshiping God but Job would not listen to them because he was the faithful servant. He still worshiped God and he still had faith in Him and he still loved God with all his heart.
Because he still had faith in God God blessed him even more this time. All the trials and tribulations that he went through, not once did he complain or doubt God's love for him.
So that is the message of Job, that no matter how difficult it may be, whatever trials and tribulations you are going through do not loose your faith in God.
Do you know why Job went through the trials? Because God wanted to show Lucifer that he is wrong, because he was proud of Job, Job the faithful servant, the man who loves God with all his heart. That's why God loved job so much, that's what was so pleasing to God. That is what God wants from us today, to stand ground in times of trouble.

You can use the 'SPECK' method. It has really helped me study the word of God. Whenever you read the bible, always look for this in any chapter that you are reading:
S- Sins to repent
P- Promises to claim
E- Examples to follow
C- Commands to obey
K- Knowledge to use
Hope this will help you. God bless you as you study His word.

The concern Job had for his children. He would offer sacrifices to G-d in case his children had sinned & offended G-d. Talk about a fathers' heart for his children!
Another interesting thing in Job is that satan has access to G-d. How interesting!

I HAVE ALWAYS WANTED TO KNOW:
- Who actually wrote the bible?
- Why are there many contradictions in it?
- Why has King James change the "Unique Son" to the "Begotton"??

Job was patient and blamed on satan not on God. He was very rich and had everything. He lost everything, like wife and children. God tested his faith and God blessed him and restore his fortune and family....
