We have it for 2005, do they offer an downloadable upgrade or will we have to buy it for 2006 as well?

unfortunately -- Yes, if you are going to use it to file your taxes and especially if you are going to use it to file electronically.

TurboTax prints the YEAR in the form it prints or sends the IRS electronically. You do NOT want to file 2006 tax return on a form that says 2005 tax return. That will really mess up your file at the IRS.

My answer above failed to consider any changes the IRS does to the tax forms from one year to the next. They are good at that.

Yes. Because the forms and laws change every year, last years program will not be correct for this years forms. Have used it for five years now and have always had to buy the new version every year. They do not offer an upgrade.

i would say yes, cause taxes are changing everyday, seems like everytime you turn around we are being charged taxes for something else and taxes are being taking away from us.
